Cosign. I can't think of anybody I would choose over Roy, not even Ray Robinson.

Hagler wouldn't be able to time Roy until the later rounds. Roy wins that on points, although it is close.

You would favour him over Foster and Spinks at 175? Interesting

Bob Foster would play right into Roy Jones style and would have a hard time landing on Roy Jones. At 175 Spinks is a good fight but I just don't see how he can hurt Jones. That's kind of a boring fight but yes I believe Roy Jones has the better tools and beats Spinks.

Please tell me what you know of Monzon or what you have seen that gives you the inclination that he could beat a guy like Roy Jones. Are you saying that because you have seen Monzon and Hagler at the 1 and 2 spots on most top 10 MW lists? Or because you actually believe it?

Monzon was a very good fighter but IMO he was not on the level of Roy Jones as far as talent and ability. Hagler would always struggle with a guy like Jones. He was a very good fighter but again think about how fast and strong Roy was, his footwork was amazing and his counter punching was incredible.

I'm not comparing Vinny Paz to the greats but if you watch that fight he gets countered to hell and Vinny Paz was a pretty damn good offensive fighter. He set a record for compubox in throwing only 5 punches in one round and not landing a single one.

I could see Hagler trying to get inside and having a hard time with Roy moving around and countering. Roy Jones was phenomenal and what I said is my opinion of Roy.

If you can post a video of Monzon that you like that showcases some of what you think would give him an edge over Roy, please put it up.... Let's not get into resume's, let's use film for this argument at the time. Simply because resume is so subjective, and I think Roy has a pretty damn solid resume so that will open up another can of worms and derail the thread...

I want to see what you see of Monzon...

Their arent too many light-heavies that spinks couldnt hurt too be fair,i think its a really bad style match-up for roy too

Roy is not the best at that weight range.
