At 160, he should be favored over most. There have been too many great middleweights to say Roy should be favored against anyone though. Not his best weight either.

At 168, definitely. There is no one EVER that should be favored over Roy Jones at 168.

At 175, definitely not. Roy Jones was not a big light heavyweight, and there are a lot of big light heavyweights who would be horrendous for him.

James Toney was much better than Joe too imo.

Anyway Calzaghe was a very good fighter but lets be honest everybody but Joey Zags knows the real Roy Jones was out of his league
Hell theres a strong case for Joe's best win (Hopkins) being a LOSS!
Hopkins might have schooled Pavlik afterwards but i thought that was a given, Pavlik is good but very limited and one dimensional so i thought Nard should have been a big favourite and i was right

No offence but by that logic, i could say well "since Henry cooper knocked Ali down, Foreman or Frazier should have knocked him out". When you think about it, better fighters than Dell Valle wasn't able to repeat that when Jones was in his hay day ( ie Hopkins, Toney, Reggie Johnson, Harding ect). I wouldn't be confident choosing anyone from 160 to 168 to beat Jones (although its not out of the question) but i can see him losing to quite a few fighters at light heavy, with Foster being his worst match.

            Roy Jones vs

Hagler: sorry but Roy has every physical advantage and is just as smart Roy beats him soundly

Spinks: would be a good fight but I doubt Spinks could deal with guy ho is faster then him and ROy would comeout aggresive like he did against Virgil Hill and make it in to a fight something Spinks would not be comfortable with. Roy by late KO.

Hopkins: Hopkins in there 1st fight had the wrong gameplan. Hopkins was at his best negating the other guys offense with his aggresive and physical inside fighting. I really believe when done right(BHOP is the best at it) there is simply nothing you can do no matter how great you are. That said BHop had a habit of waiting until the 2nd half of the fight to start this so you still have to favor Roy.

Roy had it all physically and he always had the right gameplan or you box a fighter and fight a boxer.

At 168 I favour Roy Jones over anyone.

At 160 and 175? Absolutely not.

I completely agree about Hopkins. Every time I see him in a fantasy fight, he's got a shot, just because he's so hard to actually do anything against. It might not look pretty, but Bernard's the kind of guy who will stop at nothing to win and has the brain to figure out exactly what he needs to do. Not to say I'd favor him over anybody, but he's got a shot against anybody from 160-175 because there's not really a counter to his style.

I love how everyone seems to forget that Roy is a much lesser fighter when paired against southpaws. His antics will not work on the awkward style of Calzaghe.

Even Hopkins who specializes in neutralizing southpaws couldnt figure out Joe. Joe is not an easy fight for any boxer, any era.

Zagz i just cant stand ur man Joe Calzaghe, i cant. But he does have good attributes, his fitness was great he recovered well, big heart, fast hands and could adapt mid fight

But he could not live with a prime Roy Jones. Anyways man Roy fought wads of southpaws at one point he fought like 7 on the bounce! And he did tend to win before he dropped back from HW
