From the sound of this thread, I feel like he's getting underrated. He's not the GOAT like he (and some goofball fans) claims he is, but Bob Foster KO's him early? What? He was a great, great fighter people. His chin issues didn't really show up until after his move back down to Light Heavy...

He never proved a great chin before hand, but its not just about the idea of him getting KO'ed by a big puncher but I'd favor certain fighters to outpoint him, Charles and Spinks are just 2 examples, I'd also favor Hagler over him at middleweight.

I don't think so, but certainly not a heavy underdog against anyone. I'd give him just about even or better odds against most because he'd either have a size advantage (Robinson, Hagler, Monzon) or a talent advantage (pretty much everybody not named Sugar Ray).

He never proved a great chin, but he never showed the shakiness that he did when he got sparked by Glen Johnson. He rarely got hit clean enough to show what kind of chin he had...

Johnson isn't in Fosters anywhere near the puncher Foster is not that its particularly relevant. I think your underrating Foster here, he was a huge puncher with damn good skills, an ATG light-heavy in his own right. I think people on here are not solely basing it on his power, but also the stylitic problems he poses.

I'm not underrating Foster at all. He probably would KO Jones if he landed flush. One. Big if. And two, I'm just saying it's not "oh yeah, KO 3 no problem" which seems to be where this was headed.

Fair enough, I'd have to give prime Jones a chance against anyone, it's a combination of the fact that "prime Jones" is overrated and that his competition just doesn't suggest that opinion.

Hagler vs Jones? Jones would do what Leonard did but better. No disrespect to Hagler he was a great fighter but i don't think he catches Jones.

I think the people that are picking Hagler against Jones are assuming that its not the ageing, grumpy and somewhat careless version of Hagler.
