I actually predicted that Martinez would get the stoppage, I'm not really sure why I'm arguing this. I do think that that particular punch was a lucky one, though.

I did not think he would knock him out, thought he would win with a better performance then his first fight which I thought he won. Not sure about him beating John Mugabi, don't know enough about him.

I think some people think he is a bit of a harder puncher then he is, perfect punch against Williams and Cintron was more complaining of a head butt then badly hurt. Cintron was trying to sell the head butt while sitting down imo. People think he knocked Cintron down for a 10 count because Cintron was hurt, but I don't buy that. Cintron could have gotten up earilier if he wanted. It was smart of him to stay down and complain for stratigic reasons.

Everyone knows how to beat Pavlik, but he's only lost two fights, and only once to a middleweight. Most fans think Martinez has already beaten Williams twice, so it was no fluke. You would think someone like Mugabi would have had a memorable freak KO, but he just has a blown up reputation instead.

Not only would I pick Martinez to beat Mugabi, I would pick Pavlik and Williams to beat him as well. Mugabi's entire rep was made by being built up on NBC and his losing effort against Hagler.

I'm taking Mugabi, Sergio hasn't proven anywhere near enough at middleweight for me to say he beats Mugabi.

If a guy throws a big shot towards with the chin of his opponent with the intention of hurting him and it happens too knock him out, then their is nothing lucky about it

Mugabi. Sergio has a tendency to trade with fighters much more than he should. Let's not forget he also doesn't exactly have the best defense in the world, along with his problematic stamina.

Even with how hard Muagbi punched and how bad Williams defence is?

This is a very intruiging match.. Lets not forget, we're talking pre-Hagler, because there's no doubt in my mind whatsoever, Hagler infact tamed the beast that night and he was just plain old John Mugabe after that.
I'm not so sure Williams is all he's cracked up to be and if anyone, it was Martinez who exposed the fact. Saying that, for what Martinez lacks in power, he certainly makes up for with his in-fighting and superb counter punching skills.. He's extremely clever at getting his face right in there without actually getting it sploshed, all whilst finding particularly good angles to negate and divert the power-shots. I suppose it's for these reasons i think Sergio could do it, simply by winging Mugabe's frequent sythes and possibly gassing him as the fight draws to a close.
