Sam said that he wouldn't fight Jeffries way before he was a HW.

Sam fought top white contenders, it was just frowned upon for a black man to fight for the title. As far as Jeff goes, whe he retired Sam was still fighting lightweights and welterweights so its pretty much a moot point to even discuss it.

        lol lol lol lol.

you must be a white guy.

        lol lol lol

for most of Sam's carrier in order for him to fight a white fighter he had to lose the first fight.

and it was like that for most black fighters.

You sound very ignorant of the facts of the era and of Langfords resume. You claimed he wasn't allowed to fight white contenders yet he fough Gunboat Smith, Iron Hague, Fulton, Ketchel, Elbows McFadden and Jim Flynn, all contenders in their era and all of them white.

Being white or black has nothing to do with be knowledgeable of the facts so don't be bringing that crap to this section.

na!! when I was a kid fighting the ams in jersey, they called me the Newark tar-baby. Cause of my hight and weight.

I didn't know what it meant so I looked it up. Fell in love with Sam's story.

I know quite a lot about his resume, including some funny stories.

I said not if he didn't lose to them first, ….like Jim Barry, who Langford supposedly got knocked out by in the 6th round of there first fight. But Langford beat his ass the next 9 times they fought.

I have knowledge of the fact that being black ****** back then, no matter your occupation, trying not to factor that into your analysis of history is doing no one any good.

Why do you think he didn't get a title shot despite fighting in every weight class and being feared so much that he was often forced to where bigger gloves than his opponent.

Exacty, but Sam was never a natural heavyweight anyway, and e used to fight much bigegr men regularly.

ol lol lol, you're a fool. Sam langford and his manager Joe Wood sent out an advertisement for Sam to fight any man in the world, with the exception of Jim Jeffries. Learn your boxing before making ****** comments. Or I guess Sam and his manager were lying and just playing when they refused to fight Jeff? Lol, lol, lol.

Ifr you're familiar with Langford as you say you would know that Langford often took unknown opposition lightly and didn't always come to fight in shape. Moyles book on Langford tells much about this and talks of the first Barry fight and this being the case were Sam lost a newspaper decision. If you have contrasting information or proof this fight was tanked (something Sam said he NEVER did), I'd like to hear it.

I have knowledge of the fact that being black ****** back then, no matter your occupation, trying not to factor that into your analysis of history is doing no one any good.
I do factor that in and it was a tough time for blacks. But Langford was treated very well by his own admission. Don't make more of something in this particular argument than was really the case.
Why do you think he didn't get a title shot despite fighting in every weight class and being feared so much that he was often forced to where bigger gloves than his opponent.
He would have gotten his shot at Ketchel had he not died. At any other weight up till heavy he never stayed around to force a fight. Combine that with the fact that he was genuinely feared and fights were forced by public demand and not a sanctioning body and you have you answer. There were ither black champions at the time so it was never just that. The time he spent most at the top, the place where he beat the best fighters was heavyweight and he was ducked by Johnson. That itself should tell you a lot.

Also, I'd like to know where you got the information he was forced to wear bigger gloves than his white (i assume thats what you're talking about) opponents.

I didn't bring it in the section, History did.
No you brought it here by assuming my color has anything to do with my knowledge.

What has history got to do with you being ignorant and assuming a person is white, in that context it could also be taken as an insult and we could assume you was a racist.
                    Cut that **** out.

Depend what you mean by natural HW, was he at his best at HW no but he was damn good and about his days after the age of 27 he pretty much couldn't make HW, and he'd never weighed in at HW at the time of the quote.
