  • i had marquez 8-4. Thought he landed beautiful clean shots and dictated the pace of the fight. Sure, some of the rounds were even but i just can't see the argument for a Pacquiao win and 116-112 even less so.

I really feel for Marquez more than anything. He should have had his moment. The guy just can't catch a break.

    • As far as I'm concerned Marquez clearly won the fight.

      Decision was shocking.

        • It was a 9-3 or 8-4 type of fight in Marquez's favor imo. He won comfortably. I thought they wouldn't be able to pull of the robbery with this one but I was wrong.

          • I'm really beginning to wonder what I saw that others didn't. I had Pac 8-4, and I watched it twice. In every close round, Pacquiao was landing better punches.

Seems like the Hagler-Leonard "He did better than I expected" syndrome to me.

I respect you a lot as a poster, bojangles.

But I simply cannot see what you see.

8-4 for Pacquaio?? I struggle to give to 7-5 for JMM..

7-5 JMM sounds about right to me. But many of the rounds were difficult to score.

I've never disagreed so wildly with how the majority of people scored a fight, but I do here. I've watched it three times, and I can't understand 8-4 Marquez at all. I see Marquez being given the 3rd and 4th by people, and I don't get it, he was clearly outlanded in both. I don't see the robbery.

I'm really wondering about myself here. I think I'll just accept that at the very least it was a close fight, and that my opinion just isn't what everyone else thinks. I must just be wrong, but I don't see what everyone else is.

no you are actually 100% right and everyone knows it....i guess the only thing you did is score the rounds objectively like myself and the judges.

pac definitely won rounds 3,4 we can agree on that.

he also definitely won 3 of the last 4 rounds.

that is in itself a draw at the very least. he also got round 6, and you could easily give him another round somewhere unless you are biased and give all the close rounds to jmm..

pac won at least 7 rounds here.....and like you i had it 8-4.

                    • I've got to say, huge huge credit to BloodyNate for calling the two huge upset's in the past 2 weeks.

He picked Kirkland to beat Angulo and Marquez to beat Pacquaio.

I would have genuinely bet 5 years worth of my yearly income that that wouldn't happen.

                      And look, he was right.

                      Major props, Nate.

The youngsters are stepping up guys! We need to step our game up.
