Lewis bounced of 2 sets of ropes and twice fell into the referee... Holmes was nothing like that.

You are the only person i have ever came across who blames the referee for this defeat of Lennox Lewis, even Lewis himself never questioned the referee in post-fight interviews he claimed it "was a Lucky Punch" and that McCall threw the punch with his eyes closed.
Holmes was so unsteady he almost knocked himself out on the ring post. Think the Lewis referee would have let him continue? I'm amazed you think one was okay to continue but not the other. Lewis was also wobbly against Klitschko and Briggs and he was able to clinch and move til he got his legs back. He beat the count and was hurt but alert enough to put up his gloves and protest immediately. It was controversial enough that Maloney lodged a protest with the WBC and Lou Duva called it "outrageous". As the heavyweight champion in what was a fairly pedestrian fight up to that point, he deserved the opportunity to go on.Comment

Lewis was up at the count of 7 fell into 2 sets of ropes and into the referee's arms as the referee held 10 fingers up, if you yourself time it from Lewis hitting the canvas to the time the referee waved off the fight it is 12-14 seconds.. are you saying Lewis should be allowed to carry on with a 12-14 second count and falling into the referee's arms?
Time it yourself and tell me how long you get it too

Lennox's comments are pretty disrespectful and ignorant. If he truly believes the nonsense that he is spewing about Tyson, and to claim that the fight would have been the same at any point in Tyson's career is ridiculous and I am not convinced that Lennox is being sincere in saying that moreso than he is just too proud to give another fighter any credit.
He just proves that he's just as bad a person as he is a fighter.
I am sure that those guys did not believe what he was saying as they knew better.Comment

Tyson would have been ko'd by lewis in his prime quite easily.
Lewis was too big, too strong, too good for little mike.
Tyson would be getting clipped by the jab on the outside, and if he tried to come in, he would have been manhandled and tossed across the ring like a rag doll, by the far bigger, stronger lewis.
Tysons resolve would break and he'd foul out by kicking the ref in the bollocks.

Ok terrific. You and JoeyZags can start a club and agree on that. The rest of the boxing world will think otherwise.
You see, the reason why Tyson can go on television and do interviews and speak humble about himself is because he has cemented his greatness into everyone's mind with what we can see on film. He doesn't have to say he's the best or agree when somebody tells him that he was.
When Larry King said that Tyson was one of the greats he just said "Thank you, Larry."
Lennox Lewis will not do that, because he still has something to prove. He has to say it, because he knows that nobody believes it. Lennox can sit down and do interviews and talk about how great he was, how he was never challenged, how his losses were because of premature stoppages, and he was ducked by so and so, etc... It's what you can say without saying anything in an interview that matters, such is the case with Tyson, as his greatness is known through the world. Lennox Lewis to this day, still has a huge black cloud over his career, his opposition, his losses, etc... And that is why he can not be humble when talking about his career. He is insecure and everybody can see right through him.
EDIT: And LOL at Lewis' comment "I watched Buster Douglas, and it was right there how to beat him." As if he fought a version of Tyson close to the 1990 version.
