Its true.I think the tyson fans need to keep this thread about a h2h match-up rather than looking at both guys resume,as they wouldnt have a leg to stand on in that respect

Tyson would not be no cake-walk for Joe Louis or any other heavyweight in history for that matter.. He would be one of the toughest if not thee toughest fight of Joe Louis entire career yet your above comment would be how you would try to twist this subject if it was Louis vs Lennox Lewis with the fact being that Tyson would have a far greater chance against Louis than what Lewis would have which IMO Lewis would be `Bombed-Out`within 3rds max

Tyson lost to Lewis. Got KO'd by Holyfield a lesser puncher than Louis by a wide margin. Hell yea the considering the guys Tyson beat in his supposed prime 85-86 you can say he is greater than Louis , aint it?

Tyson's chin was great but he was no Chuvalo. And Louis did face Baer who was a pretty hard hitter.I know your response will be he is criminally overrated, thing is its best to hide ignorance by apathy.
louis wouldnt have lasted 3 rounds with holy.lewis,or douglas taking the shots tyson took.and a single punch has never put tyson down unlike louis, who has been seriously hurt in plenty fights and early in them

max was a great man but fighter is another story.and marciano isnt stopping anybody of a tyson caliber

you dont have to be a great fighter to beat a great fighter.louis was a top 5 heavy but there are a ton of guys i would favor to beat him

          Exactly.

Joe Louis beat 6 future/former world champions( All by KO) and every single formidable Heavyweight from 1930-1948.

Can we say the same for Tyson? Tyson lost to Douglas, ducked Foreman and was KO'd by his two biggest contemporaries in Lennox and Holyfield. No comparison.

            Ignorance?

Are you saying that Joe Louis didnt beat 6 former/future world champions?

Are you saying Tyson fought George Foreman, WON those fights against his two biggest rivals?

Calling me names will not improve Tyson's resume' one bit.

I'll reiterate. Louis ranks higher on the AT list, but head to head, primes, I have to back Tyson for superior speed, power and better chin. It's a shootout, and Tyson has the bigger shot.

Louis never fought anyone of the caliber of Lewis and Holyfield. The greats he fought were also much smaller from what I remember. I mean really, Lennox Lewis would have ended Louis' streak.

Yeah, but we are talking about heavyweights here.

That is invalid as Tyson got T/KO'd by both

Muhammad Ali only had 12 KNOCKOUTS in his 61 fights.
