Joe Louis should stay cautious for 4 rounds, Demoralize Tyson in the 5th and sixth, and finish him in the 7th.

Tyson is as accurate as any, and he is also more skilled.

Why do people try to downplay his skill? He started boxing when he was 12. He was taken in by a boxing god who adopted him and worked with him everyday and turned him into a wrecking machine and fed him film every night from the worlds largest collection. Why is it so hard to believe and accept that he is incredibly skilled. IF he wasn't there would be something wrong. He was basically raised in the art of boxing and his adoptive father/manager/trainer was the best in the history of the sport.

Show me where he had stamina issues. It is easy to see guys like Lewis, Vlad, Vitali all winded after a few short rounds - those are guys with stamina issues. Tyson had no trouble going late into a fight. What are you basing your claims on?

Instead of talking just to talk, please back it up, as I can and I have. You just make claims without a basis.

While the other categories are a matter of opinion, how did you conclude their weights were even? History indicates otherwise.

Scott, I almost think this kid is not for real, and just comes on this forum to troll and say ****** things. I don't think he can even believe the things he says.

Well, maybe we define prime differently. I never looked it up but to me it means a time when a fighter is at his best. I don't believe he was at his best after Rooney. Just my opinion.

Another thing I'd like to add is just because anyone thinks Louis had more one punch KO's, doesn't mean he hit harder. Boxing was very different back in those days. Boxers were not paid what they are now and it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of them had jobs on the side to support them selves. You can just look at the guys that were thrown in there with Tyson and Louis, and Tyson's opponents visually looked better. Of course that doesn't prove anything, but it doesn't surprise me a lot of Louis' opponents were knocked out like the bums they were. No one ever accused all of Tyson's opponents as being all bums from just before and after he won the title. I doubt Louis would have had such an easy time with Tyson's opponents, not as easy as he had with those 1940's half ass fighters. Tyson fought many more bigger and stronger guys. Louis might have been faster, but I seriously doubt he hit harder. Just put the two fighters fights side by side one two TV's and you can see how Tyson's opponents for the most part ran and moved away from Tyson. Louis had very few fighters run from him and these are guys that were definitely "less" than Tyson's opponents.

And please don't take offense to what I say about Louis. I think he was one of the greatest. Its how good a guy looks against bums that matters if all he has are bums to fight. Look at Wlad. All he has are bums to fight and it still takes him 10 rounds to get them out of there. Thats the difference between a great fighter and a good fighter.

And yet Louis fought and beat far more hall of famers than Tyson, who in turn fought more hall of famers than Tysons opposition. Gotta disagree with you on this Ross. The term "bum of the month club" wasn't coined because Louis was fighting bums, but because he made them look that way.

Tyson lost to Douglas worse chin than Louis...stopped by lesser guys than Max Scmelling and Rocky Marciano (two all time top 20 greats).

Tyson lost to Lewis. Got KO'd by Holyfield a lesser puncher than Louis by a wide margin. Hell yea the considering the guys Tyson beat in his supposed prime 85-86 you can say he is greater than Louis , aint it?

Tyson's chin was great but he was no Chuvalo. And Louis did face Baer who was a pretty hard hitter.I know your response will be he is criminally overrated, thing is its best to hide ignorance by apathy.
