Think about it: They're slow and mechanical.....not natural athletes at all. They're large, but size isn't a natural ability or talent. One poster mentioned Marciano which is fair enough. Blow Rocky up preportionately to 250 pounds and what do you have? Vitali Klitschko with a bigger punch. Frank Bruno was strong as hell but not someone I'd tag as a natural athlete. Blow Bruno up preportionally to 250 pounds and what do you have? Wlad Klitschko with a bigger punch.

Far from making a "rubbish" post, I think pointing out that the Klits are not natural athletes is a fair observation. Being big isn't a talent.

not a very fair way of putting things

Wlad is not merely as mechanical as Vitali
            in fact, he's pretty fluid
            and both have good handspeed

size isn't everything they have, this is ridiculous to even suggest that

their size is just an advantage they have and use among others

I would never have expected such a poor quality post from you

I've never seen Wlad look "fluid" and I doubt I ever will. Neither fighter has what I'd call "good handspeed".....in fact, I'd rate Lewis and Bowe over both Ks in handspeed and neither of those two were particularly swift.

More to the point, the thread is about natural ability or talent not whether they have any advantages aside from size. Vitali, for example, is tough, has a great chin, good stamina, and a high workrate. All those things make him a top fighter but none of them make him a natural athlete. In fact, all those traits apply to Marciano as well as Vitali. Wlad, on the other hand, has a better skill set then Vitali, which gives him a big advantage over the current crop of Heavies, but lacks the afore mentioned advantages that Vitali has. Again, though, a skill set is not natural ability: It's something learned, as opposed to something that comes naturally ie. athleticism.

I think Wlad moves pretty fluidly, while Vitali doesn't

I don't agree about the handspeed, but it's ok

for a man his size, Wladimir is freaking athletic to me (while Vitali is not, again)

But we're not giving him a passer because of his size. Past a certain point a fighter's size works against him from the perspective of natural athleticism. I wouldn't consider Bowe or Lewis as having natural athleticism either (and for the record I rate Vitali as a better fighter than Bowe).

The wider point, though, is one doesn't need to have natural ability to become champion: Boxing is as much a learned trade as anything else. Nor does natural ability guarantee a fighter will be great: Jermaine Taylor is a terrific natural athlete but I seriously doubt he'll even make near-great status and I'd bet the farm he'll never be an ATG.
