? but he's right, it is one of the worst possible match ups for Frazier and with Bowe's uppercut it might look something to what the Foreman fight was. Frazier moving into Bowe's monster shots and continually getting put down untill the ref puts a stop to it.
He may well be correct in his assesment of the matchup but he's still a troll and his days are numbered
I had never seen Bowe fight a guy who could lay pressure on remotely close to Joe. Joe was great at slipping inside and Bowe wasn't the fastest guy around. Joe would land a lot of nasty hooks on Bowe.
Frazier was a better heavyweight than Bowe and will always be rated higher, but this is a bad matchup for Joe. It would be a war (assuming Bowe is in top shape) with eventually Bowe battering Frazier and closing his eyes like in Ali III.
Got it right here. Frazier would be game but stylistically Bowe would beat him up until the fight got stopped.
Bowe by late TKO. Frazier too small and Bowe too durable. Even if he doesn't get the TKO he'd be way ahead on the cards. Prime Bowe can do all the things a 70s Ali can, just with reduced speed and output but also with more power and more inches for Frazier to have to reach upward in order to connect.
Frazier wouldn't do too well with Bowe's power. Wouldn't devastate him like Foreman's, but he'd be hit a hell of a lot more than Foreman hit him.
Everything here would make sense if this wasn't so cut and dry. I give Bowe a shot with anyone, but at their respective bests I'll lean towards Frazier. More relentless and harder punching than Holy, more elusive defensively. Better stamina and more proven grit. I can entertain upsides for Bowe, but letsb lookn at the facts.
Joe would go right at Bowe and it would be an epic war. I can see both guys getting rocked, but I'm not sure if Joe could successfully go to war with a fighter of Bowe's size and calibre. Bowe was a terrific brawler. I can see Joe making Bowe miss and nailing him, but I can really see Joe getting rocked and just flogged into the ground, like vs Foreman. Bowe wasn't as powerful as Foreman though.
I think Frazier takes it. Bowe is strong and has power but his mental game was 3/4 the way to Judah and I think e gets a KD on Frazier but Smokin Joe comes back and knocks him out being in better shape mentally and physically. Joe bobs and weaves past his nice jab and left hooks him to a ko victory even after suffering a knock down.

But Joe is open to the uppercut, and Bowe had a MEAN uppercut.
Remember the one he hit Evander with in their first fight? It nearly lifted Holy's head off his shoulders and had him careening around like a drunk.
Holy had a better chin than Frazier, and with the way Joe bobs, it is likely he could have moved into an uppercut.
I can see Joe getting up, but not being in a state to defend himself.
1 of the worst possible matchups for joe.this will look like frazier vs foreman III
No, it wouldn't. I can certainly see Bowe winning it and think he would in fact. But, in no way would it resemble Foreman battering Frazier. Bowe doesn't have the punch of Foreman, was more careful at the start of a fight, took longer to get into and was easy enough to hit that Frazier would make it a hell of a fight.
I see it being something close to Ali/Frazier with Frazier taking lots of jabs on the outside but landing big shots as they get close then Bowe going to work on the inside and this in where Bowe would really beat Frazier.
If it was fought on the outside I'd give Frazier a shot of winning as Bowe was easy to hit from the outside and a big left hook from Frazier could hurt him, but the inside is what would define this fight. Bowe's jab would control action from a distance for the most part and then on the way in Frazier would have excellent success to Bowe's body and hitting him at mid range, where Frazier's short hooks would be at perfect range but where Bowe is just off both of his best ranges. Once they got inside however, it would change as Bowe would shoot those short powerful uppercuts through Joe's guard, bust his face and eyes up over the distance, get in good body work and probably start hurting him late, which would get all the worse because of the jabs and right hands from the outside.
UD with Frazier really ****** up over the latter part of the fight or a ref/corner stoppage late. Bowe would take a good shellacking too though.

As with most what if fights involving Bowe, it comes down to his mental state. If the fight could happen, Frazier, maybe more than even Holyfield, would test exactly what Bowe was made of.
Joe Frazier's elusiveness is probably too much for bowe. Yeah sure frazier would get dropped but he will carry on getting up. I think Frazier wins a UD or a late ko from a big left hook.
