Roy Jones jr giving BHop his rematch when both were in their primes.
Roy said he would fight the winner of Hopkins-Trinidad (thinking Tito was going to win) around super middleweight for a super fight. Hopkins won then Roy Ducks him and doesn't pay him no mind. Hopkins goes to Roys hotel and they dicuss the fight and Roy said the fight is on. Next thing you know Roy signs to fight somebody else.
Roy was a great talent/gifted freak athlete but great fighter he wasn't. He ducked a lot of top contenders when he was the supposely #1 p4p for beating c level competition 90% of the time.

Roy Jones(2002), James Toney(2003), Joe Calzaghe(2002), Adamek, Green, Dawson, Winky(2005)
Toney in 2003 was a cruiserweight i believe and his fat ass wouldn't drop no weight
Who was Calzaghe in 2002? he was just fighting in Wales fighting bumbs with his WBO title getting some early stoppages.
Adamek moved to Heavyweight
Green beat a JONES JR shell. LOL who else has he beaten to get a shot?
Dawson is will give you that. But Hopkins is Fighting Pascal who beat Dawson. So it will be a better win if Hopkins beats Pacsal.
Winky? lol i think Hopkins was getting robbed from the judges around 2005 with his Taylor fights so then Winky fought Taylor.

I thought it was for three reasons:
1)1988 Gold Medal match: Bowe lost to Lewis, and felt the officials didn't give him a fair break. A true champion tries to avenge any loss they had as a pro or amateur, and you won't make money as an excuse. In fact, a true champ would have gone as low as 50-50 to fight a nemesis.
2)The Encounter they had after Bowe-Holyfield-1: After Bowe beat holyfield they both bumped into each other as Lewis was broadcasting the fight, alot of rubbish and trash talk was exchanged- you will expect the fight to take place.
3)Legacy: Bowe was a champ in an era that didn't have many big names, Holyfield was his biggest win on his resume. You will expect him to have someone like Lewis in his resume, this is why despite a solid record- he was like 42-1 he won't make it into the IBHOF, and many thought he was losing both Golota fights until the low blows and DQ's. If Bowe had fought Lewis and beaten him, that extra win may have given him IBHOF consideration.
Bowe thought it was a premature stoppage when he lost to Lewis in Olympics
Trash Talk- Bowe needed to Back it Up:

HBO's Legendary Nights: Look, Leonard feared Pryor, he didn't answer his challenge in this PRESS CONFERENCE (gee, where are fights made, in interviews, or with lawyers over big dollars??)
Legendary Nights spawned more myths than Ancient Greece.
