lyle wasnt way past his prime and even if he was lynn ball was 6' and lost every fight after that
Lyle wasn't past his prime when he fought Cooney or Ball? Are you crazy? Lunn Ball won 7 fights after the Lyle one, losing 3...all but 1 by KO

Lyle was pushing 40 when he fought Lynn, and given the life he had led and the number of wars/beatings he was involved in inside the ring, I would say he WAS WAAAAAYYYY Past his prime, just the same as Briggs was waaaay past his prime when he fought Vitali.

How many punches did it take Vitali to do that to their faces though? And with pinpoint accuracy. The contenders of today have virtually no defense or offense for that matter, against the Klitschkos. Briggs and Peter looked normal after their bouts with Vitali, just like a fighter should after a 12 round world title match...

Vitali does NOT have big power, not at all. Look at how many blows he landed against Briggs, against Lewis...Lewis took Briggs out with 2 shots, Lewis had a suspect chin for a fighter of his caliber...

He does not have one punch power at the championship level by any stretch of the imagination. Wlad does.

who knows.peters face was terrible,so was briggs, sanders, gomez, arreola, etc etc
vitali doesnt have 1 punch power because of where his punches land.his punches rarely land on the chin or temple, which are usually where majority of k.o's come from.his punches usually land around the eyes and cheek bones, which is why guys faces are smashed to bits.1 of the few shots i remember him landing on the chin was against lewis and he narrowly missed the k.o

I don't know how many times you have seen the Lewis fight, but I have seen it 3 times. Lewis was hurt, but not hurt enough that Vitali could have put him down by any means. Lewis just took the shots and kept punching like they were nothing...You might want to go watch that again. The only time either fighter was even close to being KOed was at the end of Round 6, and it was Vitali who was hurt, but he just kept fighting. Vitali cannot knock out Lewis, he doesn't have the power, and against a better prepared Lewis he would not have had the skills, but that is history.

Vitali doesn't look to hit fighters on the soft spots because be knows he doesn't have tremendous power, the guy is a smart boxer. Most boxers put in so much time learning to defend the chin that they can leave the forehead and eyes open to punishment, so Vitali goes for it. No reason hitting them on the jaw trying to knock them out when you can swell their eyes. Vitali is all hand speed and reflexes, not power.

The biggest issue here is that most ALL of the heavyweight contenders are stiffs. A fighter like Vitali or Wlad can just hit them at will without even having to worry about the opponents offense, they have no defense >.< The ones that aren't stiffs have no offense, etc etc...If I could ever think of a time that a fighter was born out of place, it is this one. The Klitschkos should at least be fighting in the 90s or 80s...not this joke of a era.

Hello, I think Lyle is better boxer than Vitali, in fact I think Vitali is not a really top boxer, but Vitaly is stronger, slow and his jab....
I would like Lle by points.

Lyle gets dominated by the taller Klitschko, his corner or the referee pulls him out of there after about 9/10 rounds.

Vitali is a "Lumbering Behemoth" who use's/has used Anabolic Steroids, the drug testing regime in Germany where both brothers fight is Non-Existant.. Vitali has fought only Class D fighters and is very limited in the boxing skills department with zero footwork, balance, speed, hand-eye co, combo's, and is incapable of throwing an overhand right, yet Vitali excells at "Being Big" standing tall while leaning backwards to protect his chin.. Lyle would be far to strong and be able to force Vitali onto his back-foot which would leave him incapable of doing anything other than grab & hold at which Lyle would land bombs and drop Vitali.

Quarry was a brilliant counter-puncher who beat Lyle to the punch all night long, Quarry moved and never got into a clinch with Lyle as Quarry had very good balance and movement something which Vitali does not have, Vitali keeps his feet nailed to the floor and only throws `arm-punches`which would be useless against a guy like Ron Lyle.

Vitali has very limited power regardless of his KO% as that KO ratio has been built by KOing Tomato Cans who you could say are rated below Class D.. Vitali has just failed to finish Shannon Briggs who at age 38yr was 40lbs over weight and completely shot, that fight has to go down as the worst fight in Heavyweight History with both champion & challenger putting up pathetic performances. That version of Vitali would be hammered into the ground by Ron Lyle and with him being incapable of throwing a overhand right he has nothing to keep Lyle off of him..

Vitali has shown nothing during his boxing career to suggest he could beat any Class C+ fighter, he failed to beat an overweight past it Lennox Lewis in Lewis final career fight and has never in his career fought any opponent you could rate as Class C with them all being limited hand-picked fighters.. Both Klitschko brothers fight out of Germany where the Drug-Testing of fighters is non-existent and Vitali has failed steroid testing in the past.

Hey did you see how many shots Shavers landed on a WAAAYYYY past his prime Ali and he couldnt put him down. Henry Cooper put a younger much more prime Ali down with one left and knocked Ali into ******treet where he was saved by the bell/ripped glove and smelling salt. Henry Cooper was 185 lbs and did this to Ali. Clearly Earnie Shavers has no 1 punch power.
