Lyle could box (was he really ahead of Ali though - thats not how I remembered the fight - maybe I should rewatch).

I like Lyle and he was in some classic fights. I just think Vitali is a bad matchup with the chin, defense and power set against Lyle's whiskers and susceptibility to getting hit.

Ha ha, I'm with you now on the robotic bit.

And yes Lyle was ahead of Ali at the time of stoppage......not that it mattered.

But again back to Vitali, it is certainly a dangerous match for Lyle. I do rate Vitali fairly highly, I was impressed with him last weekend.......his right cross looked excellent that night.

I wouldn't bet on it either.

these guys find anyway possible to make klitscho lose a fantasy fight.now they are trying to turn lyle into james toney.lyle was a decent fighter but he had a habit of keeping his hands out in front like rahman did vs lewis and he kept his right low after a few rounds which would spell doom against vitali.anybody with a shaky chin is not beating either klitscho

lyles only chances in this fight are slim and none

Not a good matchup for Lyle. Vitali is a quicker and smarter fighter. Obviously bigger too. I'd give Lyle a punchers chance against Wladimir (he could really hit), but a clear decision loss to Vitali and his awkward style.

LOL @ those who think Lyle could actually beat Vitali. The hight and reach advantage alone would be the one thing that would assure Vitali the victory. I'd rather see Frank Bruno or Sonny Liston in against Vitali. Someone that actually had a chance. Its a joke to compare Ron Lyle.

Would the height and reach advantage assure a Vitali victory over Tyson? :thinking9:

It would ensure his demise if anything, against a great pressure fighter anyway. A Great boxer puncher, or a great pressure fighter, those two I have concluded are the acid bath for Vitali. Lyle was a Great Boxer Puncher. His chin was hardly shaky, sure he got caught against Ali but was not seriously hurt and WAS ahead on scorecards by a bit. Easily a champion caliber fighter.

Where you people get that Lyle had a bad chin is beyond me. He was only down against Foreman and Shavers in his Prime, something only a handful of fighters could manage to get up from...Foreman would walk over both Klits, Shavers would walk through Wlad and give Vitali the fight of his life....

It was rather a rhetorical question :hah9: I personally have Tyson making short work of chinny Wlad and giving the tougher Vitali an ugly extended beating. I'm not a Tyson fan either as most posters around here can attest to :hahahaha9:

That didn't do Wlad any good. Lyle has the same reach as Lamon/Sanders and is a inch taller...Not to mention that he is much more skilled, has a much harder punch, and is one mean mother ****er

Corrie Sanders is taller than Ron Lyle. Really.
