  • Ezzard Charles vs. Joe Calzaghe at 168 Who Ya Got

I got Joe winning in 3 rounds by stoppage. Fighting in the 160's Ezzard Charles lost 4 times and drew once fighting a lot of regional opponents in Ohio. He didnt fight outside of Ohio and Pennsylvania until losing to Elmer "Glue" Ray in New York.

Joe was too fast, too skilled, too strong, too good. Just an all around better fighter in his prime. Joe would throw about 8 times to Charles' once and even after his hands went could slap Charles to death.

the two were jus about the same size, but Joe was so quick and skilled and had reflexes like no other.

Charles right cross wouldnt do anything to the south paw joe, since he pretty much used it to counter the left jab.

Do you know why Joe was so good, he got his hands off first every single time.

The lag punch Joe would have feasted on, he would have just jumped on Charles and slapped him silly.

Im trying to give you the benefit of the doubt about being a troll or not but this post is either confirming that you're trolling or you don't have a clue what you're talking about here.

It's a more well-disguised troll attempt than the thread you once made about Calzaghe KO'ing Ali, I'll give you that. But the Calzaghe KO3 prediction gave you away.

How is this trolling. Joe Calzaghe never lost and in his first 22 fights had 21 KO's. he had a lot of power in his prime. He knocked down Eubank in the first round with a great shot and in Charles' day would have just continued slapping him as soon as he got up.

Charles was 168 when he was TKO'ed by Lloyd Marshall and I think Joe is better than Lloyd Marshall...much better. Charles was knocked down 8 times in that fight. For those keeping score at home, thats twice as many times as Joe was knocked down in his career. I have seen several Ezzard Charles fights and read about the ones I cant find video on, guys who brought consistent pressure caused him the most problems. That is Joe Calzaghe right there.

Joe's pressure is like nothing Charles would have ever seen before. Joe throws a mile a minute over and over and hes just relentless.

I dont see how its trolling to think that an undefeated fighter who had 20 title defenses at SMW would beat a guy who lost several times at that weight to club fighters and was knocked down 8 times by Lloyd Marshall who was giving up 3 lbs, was naturally a smaller guy and had lost 3 times in the previous 2 years. I mean, is it trolling because the answer seems somewhat obvious? People dont want to talk about the Klitschko's so why cant we compare Calzaghe to Charles. Since Joe was 5'11 with a 74'' reach and charles was 6'0 with a 74'' reach. They both fought at around 168 for a large part of their careers. I think thats pretty legit of a topic.

If you think Charles beats Joe Calzaghe id love to know how, but prime Joe was a beast

How do you see it going longer than 3? First knockdown and Joe would just stay on him. Joe was a great finisher and when he sensed weakness he would just keep attacking guys and beating on them. It wasnt until his hands were gone that he couldnt finish people off. That happened in his early 30's, prime joe was probably around 1999.

Tell me about all the top fighters that Calzaghe KO'd in his so called prime. Names like Omar Sheika, Byron Mitchell and Richie Woodhall aren't going to pass, sorry, not when talking about a match-up against arguably the greatest light heavyweight of all time.

Heres how great Lloyd Marshall was...In 3 attempts he was unable to win the USA State California Middle Weight Title, but still he knocked Ezzard Charles down 8 times in finished him within 8 rounds.

                    1) 168 under day before weigh in rule = 175 under same day weigh in rule.

                    2)... Actually 1) is enough.
