So basically you won't take a guy seriously because he's a minimumweight. That makes your opinion totally worthless.
I will agree that Whitaker fought better composition, but Lopez was, at the least, equally as skilled as Whitaker. There were no weaknesses in his style. And as for competition, Alvarez was a heck of a good fighter, as was Ratanapol Sor Vorapin. Regardless, Lopez took on everyone in front of him, and the fact that he's not even being mentioned in this thread is ridiculous.
All of the above. I disagree he was more technically sound. Whitaker had a different style but was a master of it. In terms of resume, it's not really close. Whitaker fought everyone at Lightweight, moved up and beat the best at Welter, beat 1A at Jr. Middle when Vasquez was hot. He fought in better divisions, against better comp and had lengthy reigns in two of them.
