Didn't beat enough top guys tbh
Did Edwin Valero do enough to warrant IBHOF induction?

The best names on his record are Vincente Mosquera and DeMarco, he didn't look great against Mosquera, the fight was close and he was put on his ass in the third if memory serves me correctly. He looked very good against DeMarco but it was not like DeMarco was favored to win by many though he was a step-up from Valero's normal competition. Hector Velazquez was a recognizable name, but he was a shot fighter who was above his best weight, Pitalua was a dangerous puncher but that is about it, he had one good win over a world class opponent in Jose Armando Santa Cruz but other than that he was only tested against Mexican national competition. Other than that the best names on Valero's record are Shimeda and Whyber Garcia who are sub-par to average fighters at best. He is nowhere near being worthy of IBHOF induction, he is just another Tony Ayala Jr. and I would bet he is going to be mythologized like Ayala in the future.Comment

Are you ****in ******? His best win is Antonio DeMarco. And, there's the little matter of the grisly murder-****ing-suicide. That'd be a big stain on the IBHOF, wouldn't it? Nothing he accomplished in the ring comes anywhere near overcoming the circumstances leading up to his death. Even on accomplishments alone, he doesn't sniff the hall of fame.Comment

Shame Ayala never killed himself as well.. I'm sure a lot of innocents would have had a much better life if he had..Comment
