if u go by the 8 traditional divions, and just count beating the lineal champ, how many REAL titles do pacquiao own?
in my book pacquiao is overrated by the media, and floyd would easily expose him.
Eight traditional is a misnomer. There were great champions in classes like 130 and 140 as early as the 30s. Anytime you're the man in a class which once made home for names like Arguello, Chocolate, Chavez, Pryor, Berg etc. (some one, some the other) you're in a real division with real history.

Charles resume is far better than Pacquiao`s resume But he never achieved as much in terms of titles won as did Pacquiao, there is no doubt about it that Pacquiao is a phenominal fighter and worthy of being labelled in the same bracket as Robinson & Armstrong... both Pacquiao & Charles are the stuff that legends are made of..
I don't think Ezz was a top ten heavyweight, though Bert Sugar had him there a few years ago and a case can be made. I rated him 13 a few months ago at Middle and 1 at Light Heavyweight and he'll be in the top 20 Heavies.

Charles resume in terms of titles is thinner than Pac's (lineal or alphabelt) but he had far less opportunity and less titles available to him. In terms of great wins against great fighters?

It's not really that close. Charles beat a prime Archie Moore three times, beat Burley twice at Middle, blasted through Maxim and Bivins and Marshall mutliple times, should have bested Walcott 3 of 4...just a sick, sick fighter. In terms of best wins, he rates with or better than Robinson. He lags behind with worse losses.

        Allllllllrighty then.

By the way, Ezzard was the best LHW of the 40s. This no one can refute. What weight division did Pac ever dominate? Or did he just pick and choose his fights and move from one weight class to the next? How exactly is he "dominating" his era when he's never taken on all comers, never cleaned out a division, never been undisputed Champion. Pac has been pretty impressive at winning world titles, pretty unremarkable at unifying or defending them.
I agree like i said but boxing isn't ruled the same way, so you have to judge a fighter based on what happens in his era.
Ezzard CHarles would get fights against some handpicked opponents too, just like Roy did in the 90es.

I don't know a lot of fighters who do what you said nowadays. Boxing works with hype and mega selling PPV cards, like the DREAM MATCH who should have been called the MIS MATCH.
