I think people forget the art of cardio and calisthetics. I went into bootcamp for the army around 220lb in my late 20s. Now my best weight prior to that was maybe 190lbs when I used to be a gym manager in my early 20s. I was swole and lifted alot. My body had muscle memory when it came to lifting within a gym setting but if I had to do manual labor I would be tapped out because the weights would be odd and uneven and my lack of real running cardio ( I was only running in a gym on a machine since I was a gym manager) I would be out of breath quick. Fast forward to when I went to the army. We never touched a dumb bell or weights. All we did was cardio marching, running, push ups, jumping jacks etc. Before the army I couldn't run a mile outside. I got so much better I was able to run 3-5 miles in a company run. I got more physically stronger while losing 50lbs ! I left bootcamp 50lbs lighter at 170lbs and I was lean and mean. But it was a hard bootcamp. I think people need to go back to that old school rocky movies type working out to build real strength. I dont think any of these boxers have that old school joe frazier, joe Louis, sonny Liston , Norton, foreman, rocky, Jackson, GMan , etc strength anymore.
Even Shane mosley said he was stronger at 147lb more so then at 154lb.
