You'll notice my stance on a lot of fights - I don't put size at the top on a list of intangibles for a few reasons:

History doesn't agree with it - in boxing being smaller and quicker is a better thing to have - and power and strength generally are tied to the individual - not his "size". some big guys are strong, some big guys are weak. Boxing is a striking contest - not a lifting contest. a lot of lifts are partially to do with counter weight leverage. meaning, a larger man can lift more weight because he has "counter weight". This doesn't translate to striking because striking requires sublime leverage and technique.

All Haye has in this fight is more weight behind his shot - IF he catches Jones on the end of his shot (timing and balance). Seeing that Jones is better at everything else - the odds of him landing that perfect shot on basically a prime Jones is probably lower than people think. He might graze him - or hit him with some less than stellar shots - but to land right on the end flush on this version of Jones - a far superior fighter than he - isn't high in probability. The risk comes like you said - as the rounds go on. I still say 60/40 though. Jones is great Haye isn't.
I think people forget the art of cardio and calisthetics. I went into bootcamp for the army around 220lb in my late 20s. Now my best weight prior to that was maybe 190lbs when I used to be a gym manager in my early 20s. I was swole and lifted alot. My body had muscle memory when it came to lifting within a gym setting but if I had to do manual labor I would be tapped out because the weights would be odd and uneven and my lack of real running cardio ( I was only running in a gym on a machine since I was a gym manager) I would be out of breath quick. Fast forward to when I went to the army. We never touched a dumb bell or weights. All we did was cardio marching, running, push ups, jumping jacks etc. Before the army I couldn't run a mile outside. I got so much better I was able to run 3-5 miles in a company run. I got more physically stronger while losing 50lbs ! I left bootcamp 50lbs lighter at 170lbs and I was lean and mean. But it was a hard bootcamp. I think people need to go back to that old school rocky movies type working out to build real strength. I dont think any of these boxers have that old school joe frazier, joe Louis, sonny Liston , Norton, foreman, rocky, Jackson, GMan , etc strength anymore.

Even Shane mosley said he was stronger at 147lb more so then at 154lb.

I guarantee you were much more of a weapon at 170 than your Gym body shape. absolutely its all about how you train

Definitely. That 170lb frame was the best especially for my height. I am around the same height as mike tyson with a thick neck but I rather be at 170lb and lean then 200lb and solid its not good for your joints etc.

Plus it makes your organs work harder to pump blood. Alot of people need to sit down with a doctor before they start lifting weights. If your heart and other organs are not up to par you can easily have an heart attack.

I am not even including drugs and alcohol into the equation.

          - - Haye was the biggest fraud in his era of boxing. Guy was a joke. Had to be hospitalized for rope burns on his back vs Valuev.

John Ruiz at least tried to fight him.

Nahh nobody worst than Gervonte. Maybe Ryan Garcia.

David Haye is probably top 5 best cruiserweight ever.

His heavyweight run was decent but hes not a fraud.

Maybe Wilder or Mike Tyson would be a fraud IMO. Maybe Even AJ and Tyson fury.

              - - More U dolt.

Said he was gonna clean out the division before beating the retired John Ruiz, and then got stood off scared by Oddly who never threw a punch until the 3rd rd when they finally engaged to KO him. He may have tried to commit suicide the night before the fight when he totaled his auto.

Then he spent much of the time vs Wlad on his knees with his face planted in Wlad's crotch.

Then Tony Bellew humiliated him twice.

Come on man. Us Americans knew David Haye wasn't beating Klitschkos lol. Nobody believed that bs over here. I do respect him for taking the fight even though he blamed it on a toe injury.

But david haye was a legit great cruiserweight. I wouldn't call him a fraud.

                Tank is a fraud.

Fair take. Its not unbelievable to see Roy beating Haye. I think Haye catches him but i wouldn't put my money on it. 60/40- Haye ( by ko).

                      - - He was a fraud at hvy, decent at Cruiser. He finally took the Wlad fight for the $$$. He got humiliated twice by the 2nd best hvy he fought in former cruiser Tony Bellew. I don't count the Valuev fight because of the illicit WBA title was up for grabs and he did almost zero save for mostly riding the ropes to escape an ailing Valuev who promptly retired for emergency surgery to save his life because of his giantism, ie acromegaly. Valuev weighed 22lbs at birth in spite of his mom and dad living in poverty and always starving in spite of hard work.

Shoulda stayed at cruiser, but he weren't making any $$$ there...
