ok interesting. that answers the question then. there was no foul play in ali's recooperation. I always thought Dundee bought extra time by tampering with the gloves. so there was no pause between rounds outside of the normal 1 minute break?

EDIT, indeed you both are mostly right. It is said he may have bought Ali about 10-15 seconds at best. Which is basically nothing. I'd say Ali recovered on his own willpower then. I doubt the outcome would be any different, especially considering the rematch.

There may have been seconds extended time for the referee to examine the torn glove.

also between the Tunney and Ali KD, I would say Ali got caught cold - he didn't see the shot. Tunney, he got caught flush - but I believe he had some sort of anticipation of the shot coming which allowed him to clear his head quicker. Ali legitimately looked glassy eyed getting up, and his legs weren't sturdy as he walked to the corner.

Seeing as barely any time was bought through the glove myth though, The round ended and it looks like Ali recovered enough to make it out.
