Langford was blind and washed up in ‘22. Norfolk was six inches shorter and outweighed by 35 pounds. Clark was outweighed by 30 pounds and already had 37 losses and 22 draws, lol, you would laugh at any fighter since who beat a man with 37 losses. His fight with Johnson was regarded as a “wearisome joke” by journalists. Biledriver is a racist with several alts who had his racist posts removed, your girl travesty is also a known racist and hater of Dempsey. He liked a lot of Biles racist comments. It’s a pattern of behavior that is well documented. He is on ignore for good reason. Gave him many chances to be civil but he can’t help who he is. Always seeking allies vis PMs and race baiting. He thrives on negativity and beefing with countless posters.

I haven't read racist posts from either. Well documented? By whom?

You attacked my very first post here, and you've done so consistently since,and thrown in a few personal insults along the way,I'm not complaining, you have the right to disagree with me, but be consistent and don't pretend you are some innocent victim.

On the subject at hand, I'm a huge Dempsey fan a collection of his fights were the first I ever bought,but I'm even handed on the subject of him and Wills, and believe he must take some of the blame for the fight not happening.

Travestyny,like me, has said he thinks Dempsey would have beaten Wills too, so he isnt saying this out of hatred, but that isn't the issue ,and no matter how much you disparage his posts, he invariably posts links to support his opinions

Anyway, to get Dempsey back into the ring, Tex offered Dempsey a warm up fight to shake off the rust and offered Wills a fight vs Tunney in one of boxing earliest eliminator tourneys, but Wills turned him down to promptly get beat up by Sharkey and then DQed for backhanding the whole fight after repeated ref warnings, so Sharkey got the Dempsey warmup.

That first Tunney fight had Dempsey getting deaththreats such that his camp looked more like an arsenal of a Marine platoon. Hollywood Gossip Columnist Luella Parsons was good friends with Estelle dropped by and was appalled. Dempsey looked terrible, and worse while traveling to the ring. He had lumps under his armpits and had to be carried upright to his dressing room after vomiting several times on the way. He needed help undressing and putting on his ring garb.

As it turned out, one of Dempsey's new hires Mike Trent didn't show the day of the fight and was shown making two calls to Chicago where a mobster Frankie Pope put down $500K on Tunney. Dempsey mentions his Olive Oil he used for digestion without directly saying he was drugged because he didn't want Tunney to be slandered for being a part of their racket.

Jack never mentioned any of this in the Roger Khan book. Sounds like propaganda or fake news.

- - Interviewed him in the early 70s as something close to a Cub Reporter where he was instructed on the questions to ask. That's 20 years later.

The Dempsey autobio was put together by his beautiful daughter in law who took after her beautiful mother, Jack's last and best marriage. Since Jack is very humble about his few shortcomings and shares the pain of having little $$$ for most of his career, that's the magnus opus of all Dempsey writings.

Need to be humble about your shortcomings, but you ain't smart enough...
