Toneys chin is to solid. He ends up putting Jackson to sleep who didn't have the same set of whiskers to match his power.

      - - So's his Giant Chicken Bucket gut.

Roy whooped him worse than a schoolboy at supermiddle.

      Dave Tiberi embarrassed him

      - In a fight where many felt that Tiberi dominated, Toney's split decision victory (by scores of 115-111, 115-111 and 111-117) prompted U.S. Senator William Roth of Delaware to call for an investigation of the sport.
      - The investigation uncovered the fact that the two judges that awarded the fight to Toney, were not licensed in the state of New Jersey.
      - Tiberi chose to retire, even though he was in the prime of his career, rather than fight again.

Frez Oquendo rolled him out of the Ring like a beer barrel. No end to the Divine Comedy of U and TwoTonToney...

And this has what to do with how a fight with Jackson at 160 goes?

He'd shell up & cruise to a decision,
The fighter you describe James Toney as here, doesn’t exist.

When did Toney ever show the skills, ability or ring IQ to “shell up and cruise to a decision” vs any fighter that was even half way decent? Oh yeah, never.

The one time he tried to do that against an unranked Merqui Sosa he almost lost and sc****d a close decision and you somehow think that he’s going to do that vs Jackson? Yeah….No.

Toney wins this fight by doing what he does in every fight, essentially standing still with flat, slow feet, using upperbody movement and landing good counters, but he will get hit and get hit a decent amount because he always does in every fight. There’s also a chance he loses to someone the level of Jackson because as we know Toney failed to beat Journeyman in his prime at 160 multiple times. Jackson has more than enough in his game to win a close decision vs Toney. But I’d expect a close decision the other way because Toney is just a bit better in a lot of areas than Jackson is.

Only in fantasy world does Toney dominate or easily beat fighters on Jackson’s level. He never did that a single time in his actual boxing career.

My god, you do understand how much of a fucking melt you sound, don’t you?

Instead of actually addressing the point and disputing what I said you instead go to ad hominem like a typical woman. Are you a woman?

This “hate” crap, honestly. Any time someone critiques a point here it’s “you’re a hater man”. You lot are adults. Are you not an adult? You sound like you’re 16 years old. Or is your brain just the equivalent to 16 years old?

How about this, and it’s very simple, how about you try actually defending your position?

How about you name ONE FIGHT where Toney “shelled up and cruised to a decision” in his career, name just one time when that happened outside of this warped fantasy land you live in.

Whilst I sort of get what you mean about Dan having often appeared to hate on Toney he does make sone good relevant points in that post and actually leans towards Toney beating Jackson - and in a manner that seems reasonable too!

I have never once “hated” on Toney ever. I don’t even dislike Toney, and trust me there are many fighters that I dislike a lot, Toney ain’t one of them. In actual fact, I like his fighting style. I find that style of fighting aesthetically pleasing. I like defensive tricks and counter punching ability, that’s my favourite style, whether it’s elite level or not I still enjoy that style. Mayweather being one of my favourites for example and an elite version but on the other end of that spectrum I was a big fan of Ian Napa too, he wasn’t elite but I liked his style.

The problem here is I actually followed Toney’s entire career in real time, and have watched it back numerous times. Which barely any of his fanboys have, and I’m quite sure all they’ve seen is YouTube highlights. Because it’s the only way you can form these batshit mental opinions that are consistently spouted on here. I mean this thread alone, numerous absolutely non sensical, objectively incorrect takes.

I just have a reality based stance on Toney and don’t overrate him like his fanboys do and apparently that is “hate” Pathetic, to be honest and embarrassing

The claim that poster made is asinine and not even slightly close to reality. Toney “shelling up and cruising to a decision” in fantasy land when he NEVER ever did that once in actual reality. I call it out, instead of refuting it, get called a “hater” which is genuinely the kind go thing my 16 year old grandson would say to me when I tell him Man United are crap now

                      What an embarrassment.
