Holy moly. Now this thread has devolved into a "connection between Ob-ama and Al Haymon" conspiracy theory thread???

    Unbelievable.

It was nice hearing Crawford speak on Floyd after reading so much trashy fantasy here.

Paz was smacked up by Macho Camacho.

I love Camacho to death but even at his best at the lighter weights I’d have to rank him a level below Floyd Mayweather Jr.

pretty boy Floyd himself was vicious before breaking his hand against Famoso and I’d favor him to stop or bloody up the Pazmanian devil.

Some of the top fighters took control from the networks and would no longer risk their record, leverage and value by taking a potential KO loss fight. Floyd was the leader, the face of the sport. And when he refused to engage in the big fights the public wanted - Margarito, Cotto undisputed battle of unbeatens 2008 on HBO, Williams, Martinez... it marked the beginning of the end. HBO didn't believe in the product anymore. HBO didn't want to be associated with more lousy Floyd fake fights anymore and got out of boxing. Showtime linked with Floyd also ended in failure. As the face of the sport Floyd was the beacon of the sport and he failed to do what's best for the sport and it's future. He did what was best for himself. And now the sport is in ruins. Canelo is an extension of Floyd with all boring set up phony fights that are all disappointments consumed by suckers and dummies.
        - - Well, the sport of boxing has been so corrupt since forever, fighters can be forgiven for making $$$ over legacy.

Yes, we know the tragedies and wish they didn't happen. Boxing is brutal. After seeing Ali's regression, it's understandable how every boxer deserves to protect their health and use the coward Floyd business blueprint. It's a wonder how Duran and Lamotta kept their health and wit and mind into old age. .

I think Duran may be suffering from CTE. He has had a few blow-ups that were kept quiet as they didn't go too far. But I don't think he walked away unhurt.

I knew someone who was extended family to him (a former student so no details) and 'they' said that sometimes he can become scary to be around.

His mind is very sharp, so are his motor skills. But of course all great fighters have a dark side and a mean streak that never totally dissolves.
