I presume it's still like that?
I think not because ignored posters were able to post in my thread here which was revealed when they were quoted.

BTW, I am aware that thread is provocative (which is why I put it in the Thunderdome) but it is in part a serious attempt to move the NSB on from the Pac-May saga which has incredible persistence...16 years on.

I think you and Bat are talking across eachother.

        1. Can a blocked poster post on a thread you started?

        2. Can you see a block poster's remarks when someone else replies to that block poster's post regardless of which thread it is in?

Right now the answer is "Yes" to both. This forum doesn't upgrade its programs too often.

This forum resides on the corner of Balic and Mediterranean Ave, not Boardwalk.

Don't push too hard for censorship of ourselves, lads. It can come back to haunt everyone. I would now say take the minimum action that might help. This is not a national crisis but two guys arguing on a boxing forum--a dying sport and a dying medium. Don't work your minds up too much. Even if they do not stop, your life will essentially be unchanged.

My take is that both contribute to the forum, but they have this feud that goes way back. I don’t have to care if it wasn’t so that they name called and that this feud takes over from the topic of a particular thread time and time again. That’s annoying. Furthermore I get pms and reports about it constantly. Also annoying.

So if there was a way for the two of them to just ignore the other, that would be fine in my book.

              Two pages of this now.
I've tried using ignore, but it isn't working properly so, for the other posters who seem to be unhappy about the present state of play.
I'm leaving, I give a thank youand best wishes to everyone here, save one . There is only one I have emnity with, and that will never change,I don't think he has a single redeeming feature, and I won't be hypocritical and pretend otherwise.

I suggested the Forum choose which of us stays and which goes ,that wasn't acted on ,so now I'm choosing to go.

                It's up to you.

I've said that I wont facilitate a popularity vote between our members in this section and I will not enforce whatever outcome such a vote may have. his forum is free for all if the rules are kept.

If you leave well then so be it. If so I can safely say thank you for your contributions to this section and I wish you all the best.

As long as it also achieved the goal of simultaneously suppressing posts from people you have blocked/ignored when quoted by people not on your list.

DISCLAIMER: What I offer below I recognize is unfair to Bat, for he is being used, and therefore being abused. That is wrong. The PMs need to stop. It is not Bat's job to hold either of their hands.

                    BUT . . .

I always view this forum as a bunch of boxing fans sharing pints in a pub. There are always a few that are loud, sometimes too loud.

When they get too lound the bouncer taps them on the shoulder and reminds them. When they don't quiet down he bounces them out of the pub for the night (banned for a while).

Yes, in this situation, they are loud and they sometimes are too loud, but pubs are supposed to be loud, just not too loud.

I don't want to join a gentleman's club, I want to hang out in a loud pub.

My suggestion, a touch more 'bouncer' involvement.

Throw them out for the night more often, but just for the night. They'll learn to find the right volume.

P.S. I know Bat does not have 'banned' power, but that needs to change. He needs that empowerment and should be free to use it at his leisure, like a bouncer. That I believe will fix the problem.
