The Government and Boxing

Some of us know, some of us think it makes a difference which team wins. Its very likely the same results would be accomplished if the other party won with the results of measures just packaged different but it all results in the same things namely elitists staying that way, getting more wealthy, and freezing anyone not in the special club out.

They're probably all drinking buddies dem or repub and put on a show like wrestling for the cameras since why does it matter who wins the title? They duped all of the marks into thinking they had choice and freedom while they are insulated with wealth and privilage.

I'd like more real options but don't know how to change it or even start, people are too passive since most have a place to live, an income, food, cheap entertainment. Government would be foolish and need a history lesson before ever allowing too much of the U.S public to go without, we know what always happens eventually in that case so they likely never will.

It used to be that way. heres the thing that people do not realize. Trump is not a member of the Washington elite and is despised by them because in their eyes? Just like any power group the Washington elite believe in a system of patronage. A system where you come in pay your dues to them to get your entitlements from the gravy train.

Tru mp's wealth came from slum lording in Queens New York, his father... Middle class. Trump is an outsider and it drives them nuts. They are used to just shiating on people's heads and demanding that they open their mouths.... Hillary was so unpleasant that even though she had some political chops, people could not swallow...Then they nominated a w h o r e, with no demo cratic process (we the dmocratic party have the right to nominate a candidate with no vote) who was even more arrogant and unpleasant even than Hillary. A women with no intelligence to speak of, no compassion, NOTHING but having been Willie Brown's squeeze. People had enough. The reason we have T rump is because the Washington Elite was so arrogant they thought they could put lipstick on a real big pig...

Did they learn anything? NOPE! Instead of flushing the turd (Harris) down the toilet she is being prepped to become governor of California. The Geriatric group in charge of Washington is more dangerous, more evil and worse than even T r ump. They are determined not to let the bottom rung of the party come up and make changes... Pelosi will die and someone will have to cut off her cold dead hand for her to release her chock hold on power... Like Fienstein!

I'm not clicking on a dodgy link but even if what you're saying is true I've read the Green Party manifesto and there is nothing about Islamism in there. Not sure why you're trying to undermine me in that way, I am sure you don't like it when people do it to you.

Thank you for your permission to vote Green. If they really do have a problem with Islamist entryism perhaps they can ask Farage's advice on how he stopped BNP/NF entryism to UKIP.

I voted Leave by the way and stand by that choice, it was a matter of principle. Reform has nothing to offer me, they label sensible proposals like 20mph and low emissions zones as "woke". Farage doesn't challenge the paradigm of Big Business and corporatism because he's a product of it.

Let's blame the Irish.

Before the Irish came, real Americans used folk style wrestling and catch-as-catch-can fights to settle dusputes.

Only after the Irish brought us the London Prize Ring bare knuckles brawls did the States start to deal with the issue of 'boxing.'

It's all the Irish's fault.

Seriously speaking, if prize fighting was going to be nationally regulated it was going to happen right after the Second World War and before television (became common).

The federal government had struggled with trying to regulate radio in the 1920s and still keep it Constitutional. The federal governmet eventually created the FCC in 1934.

When networked television appeared (circa 1948) a whole world of new issues appeared and boxing was deeply involved with those broadcasts.

I suspect, conjecture, that the Feds avoided trying to regulate boxing because it was going to make regulating TV more difficult. I suspect that the Feds hoped for "a league" to be adopted and probably foolishly thought the IBC would address that problem. Of course not realizing that it was mob controlled until too late. After all the IBC came into existence via the prestige of Joe Louis. Early on, it looked like an answer and Federal regulation would not be needed.

By the time it became obvious that the States couldn't handle the corruption associated with boxing we were already in a reactionary mood with the right-wing trying to roll back federal involvement across the board.

As things are now, don't expect more government. Government is on its way out as I argued earlier. Majority Rule as expressed through Government had its day. It is all about the special interests now.
