Hugh "Huge Deal" McIntosh financed Johnson's trip to Australia.

Too often we say Johnson chased Tommy Burns around the world because it sounds romantic. He didn't! He was in London arranging a fight with Langford via the National Sporting Club.

Johnson didn't leave London for Sydney until the fight was already guaranteed by McIntosh.

Johnson accepted and signed for the fight while in London.

So it only makes sense that McIntosh would guarantee the travel expenses as well.

In fact JJ had return tickets written into his Burns contract as well, just in case he lost and couldn't afford the passage home.

I believe Burns got 30K and Johnson 5K plus tickets.

So it seems likely that the passage from London to Sydney was on McIntosh's dime as well.

The NSC had no financial interest, or possible gain, in Johnson leaving London. Why would they pay?

July 10, 1922: Joe Lynch regains the world bantamweight title from Johnny Buff, TKO 14.

If he lost, Buff was still guaranteed $30.000. The gate was $9.150,35 short.
Lynch had to pay the difference out of his own share, and thus received nothing for this bout.

Anything else U come up with is snails dipped in hog wash...yer welcome yet again...
What is well known is that the NSC's purse for Johnson to fight Langford on February 22nd 1909 was £1000, $5000.Having won the title Johnson declared he wanted $30,000 to defend it,the same as Burns had received to defend against him, nearly 31 years old Johnson, understandably wanted to cash in on his new championship status .Johnson many times publicly stated he would defend his title against anyone for$30,000.
His proved this to be the case when he twice signed to fight Jeannette and posted a cash bond as a guarantee of his intentions.
He also signed to fight both Langford and McVey in Australia, and posted cash bonds to that effect.
These proposed title defences were cancelled by the promoters ,not Johnson.
          As I said,do some research!

As I have said about 30 times Johnson was not prepared to defend his title for $5000 and to pay his own training expenses out of that.
ps O Brien was never the middleweight Champion,he was the Light Heavyweight Champ.
            Research!

Burns got $30,000 purse plus $1,750 as his share of the motion pictures plus$1,000 for expenses.

Johnson got $5000 purse plus $500 for his share of the motion pictures plus 3 round trip tickets London to Australia $1.200
" Jack Johnson The Rise ." Adam Pollack page 589.Chapter 26th,.

The NSC gave Johnson and Sam Fitzpatrick Jack ****!
Queenie is talking out of his arse yet again, repeating old wives tales, because he is too lazy to actually verify any of the bollocks he posts.

                - - JJ never returned to Australia, but Sam Langford did a tour there where he was beloved as a fighter's fighter.

Obrien weighed 162lbs a dwarf middleweight in today's landscape. JJ affected an English accent to float your adoring admiration of his careless dealings with other fighters, promoters, and women...

Johnson had already beaten the Australian Champion Peter Felix by1st rd ko,Bill Lang by 9thrd tko,Bill Squires was in the US.

There was nobody in Australia to make a decent fight with the new champion what would have been the point of his staying?
Langford did not return to Australia until December 1912.

Neither O' Brien or Johnson weighed in for their fight, something else you got wrong.

I'm puzzled that you continue here, every time you post, you get corrected and ridiculed, don't you get tired of it?
Perhaps its enough for you just to see your name in print? Is that it?
