I call Hearns semi-weak-chinned and always catch flak for it. My opinion has not changed. Only an incredible offense and a damned good defense made him a great fighter whose chin was not reached very often. It was not Hearns's chin that made him an ATG, you can believe that. It was his chin that could have felled his aspirations but didn't. It only makes him greater that he became an ATG without a granite chin. Most ATGs have an absolutely stellar chin, I have observed. I rate Hearns's chin about like Vlad's--maybe slightly better. They both had that jelly-legged response to hard shots. I do not know of any clips of Hearns taking great shots and surviving to win--maybe because there are none. Show me.

          Spot on I agree totally!
Lewis not only fought the best of the crop but he beat them when they were peaking. Tua, ruddock were at their best when lewis beat them. Some may say tua was no good but I have seen videos of his best knockouts before lewis beat him. The same for most of his wins when he was peaking. ruddock has amazing best ko video showreels and so do most of the others lewis beat.
I think lewis had the best career scalps then anyone else. I seriously believe that. I can make a great arguement for him.
Those two defeats from mccall and rahman were lucky punches and that can happen at hw. He avenged them both and the knockout of rahman was one of the best showreel ko's of all time!

Why is it no one ever threw a lucky punch on Chuvalo? Lewis is another one in addition to Hearns that became an ATG without a stellar chin. Lewis gets more credit for that, not less.

              - - Now, now, there you soft lads go again.

Briggs -asthmatic who was booed out of the ring after Big George beat him up and sent him on a run to no credit.
Vitali- Took the fight on 2 weeks notice after sucessfully suing Lewie x3 to win those judgements.
Morrison was decent, but already KOed
Weaver- A relic from the Tubby Lar era
Golota- a fruit loop with a looneytune soundtrack
Mercer- OK, but many though Mercer won
Tyson- A 4round fighter cashing his chips.
Grant - Physically formidable, he was a project.
Ruddock- After Tyson beat him up 2x, he was shot to shyte for Lewie
              Butler-Who dat...married to the maid???
              Tua- Decent risk Lewie handled.

What, no mention of Rahman's one punch that airmailed Lewie to Bolivia via Timbuktu?

ha ha ha! queeny you'd be a brilliant lawyer! You could argue to get the boston strangler off a free man.
You are so good at it. But it is six of one, half a dozen the other!
                ha ha ha.

The Hagler fight showed he was tough, a broken right hand from the start and took dozens of brutal punches.

The jumping up to from light-middle to light-heavy and back down to middle again cost him though.

By the time Barkley caught lightening in a bottle his punch resistance was very reduced, plus of course that almost always happens when fighters move up through the weights.
Good. You must then be able to supply clips of Hearns taking monster punches and going on to win. You must have this. You have this, right? Show it, pal, and be taken seriously. I say it doesn't exist. Why don't you shut me up then?

Try watching Roldan, or Hagler but especially Leonard 1.

Ray landed punch after punch that reduced everyone but Duran into plough shares.

Dave Boy Green was a good fighter.

He was left quivering on the canvas.

Tommy took dozens of those shots and more.

Only when he was utterly exhausted did he go down (145) in round 14 and finished on his feet.

                      Light middle - no.

I think in '84 he could have beaten Ray at that weight and perhaps even Robinson.
