Drunken Master would have probably been great if he had backing. Anyone know why Augustus was always a journeyman?

And half of the drunks in my family are also degenerate gamblers which i also have a taste for. I only go to the casino once or twice a year now. I had to stop playing numbers because I was just wasting money. I used to hit the small lottery and I used to win thousands on the blackjack table and baccarat but yes sad story for Mays. But i think he was more regional known then nationality known you let me know.

It's crazy how some drunks live long lives and others don't. My grandfather got so bad the doctor said if he quit drinking he would die. I guess the withdrawal would had killed at his age. Rip granddad korean war vet.

yea i know if alcohol ever touched my tongue again I would be back on the Rollercoaster to hell. I got some many wild drunk stories.
      Indiana/Chicagoland area.

I got family in Detroit, though.

I heard stories about Bernard back in the day.

      Great question.

      Hopefully someone answers this.

It seems like it would've been a slam dunk to promote somebody with Agustus' style, so why did he always get the short end of the stick.

In my opinion he was a wotld class fighter, the same level as Mickey Ward. What I mean by that is he was great against most lower teir world class fighters, but could be beaten because of the way he fought. Against top tier fighters he could hang in anf trouble them because of his toughness and durability. I don't think he wasted his potential. Like Ward I think he made the beat of it but just couldn't get over the hump to a world championship.

Buster Douglas and Ridpenis Bowe. Such wasted talent that could have achieved so much more.

Jeez I am only saying this here because I respect our group... I truly do not like to say certain things about fighters but bottom line, Zab seemed to me to be pretty low IQ.

Pep, Zab has done some really incredible ****** shiat... Lets start with being photographed duking it out with Miami's finest back alley crap playing brigade, over a bet that probably was not only small (to Zab) but was being handled by his people. In NYC and the Bay Area (probably LA also) professional sports guys gamble at get togethers in someone's dwelling...

This is just an example, there are other things. His dad Yoel was a killer in the martial arts circuit of the day. Watching Yoel trying to get through to Zab was a painful experience, reminding me of trying to get my wife to listen. In both cases? Well... Yoel would become animated, physically demonstrating to young Zab and one could see how hard he was trying.
