Idk why but he does seem like past fighters were more battle tested (can take a beating and give a beating ) then today's fighters.

I cant think about anyone today that can take a bad beating for 4 rounds then turn a switch on then give it right back.
Is it that fighters today cant take a bad beating and still comeback, or that they arent allowed (ref would stop it)?

Also, are fighters today taught to be more cautious and conservative than they once were (fight on the outside, take a few rounds to figure it out, value not getting hit over hitting, win on the cards)?

I Agree with that. Outside the ref that allowed Tyson Fury up from the canvas in the First Deontay Wilder fight. Yes. Most referees will not allow that type of beat down. Even that Nigel Benn fight when he fell out the Ring and they let him back into the fight. Then he later on put G men in a coma. However you can say G men got brain injuries from previous wars. Yes things have gotten soft. Even in American Football.

I dont agree with that second one. I think most British/Irish and Mexicans will **** it out with you. Through out boxing the smaller weightclass always had the best wars. Even today. If you want to see a brawl go watch a no name Mexican fight at 130lb or below they go at it. I remember some wars on telemundo and TV Azteca.

Now most Americas dont brawl it out anymore. I think that's why people liked Deontay ( i didn't) lol.

        - - But Blubber weren't ever beat up by Deyonce.

Reportedly when Blubber hit the canvas, he winked at the ref counting over him. Agree that because of Rules changes that ask a ref to do a quick screen of the fighter knocked down adds extra time for recovery, a sorta damned if he does and damned if he don't.

My argument is most modern refs would had waived off tyson Fury point blank. That was a old school type call to allow him to fight on. That was my point.

Should we put Michael Hunter on the list or should we give him for time ?

                  - - If you're American with his body type of being a big man but not a superheavy, the $$$ is at Heavy, not Cruiser. He's boosted by his very popular Dad's career and likely made a couple $mil, has a nice home, with a decent bank account that he keeps adding to with an investment counselor guidence.

It's so crazy how Americans will always skip over Cruiserweight. I definitely think it's a division that is needed but theres always more money in light heavyweight or heavyweight than Crusierweight.
