Kudos to him for going as far as he did by just looking for one shot, I guess.
    - - Fighters are fighters, not track guys. Dempsey and others like Marv or George could do both, but many a fight cancelled or rescheduled because of running injuries, esp on streets in traffic.

You know damn well 'Bama Wilder wasn't going to be running on the streets in traffic.

I think the issue with running also may have been that he'd lose weight, and he probably needed to be bigger than normal to compete at heavy. But he appeared to gas badly in fights I recall. Could have used more endurance training.

He needs to fire his promoter for sure. I know he had a hand injury but Tim is coming up to 2 fights before Murt has even had 1.

It's just been reported he's been ordered to fight Lubin by the IBF: Bakhram Murtazaliev vs. Erickson Lubin in works for early fall, promoter says

If Manny Pacquiao isn't the greatest Phillipino fighter in history, Pancho Villa was.

Just seen that. His management team is horrible. Lets pray Lubin doesn't duck this fight.

                Sup Willow.

Why would you post that here? I wouldnt call villa wasted potential. That was a illness that took his life ( act of God). Thats out of his control.

Eh, dying at 23 certainly prevents you from reaching your full potential, hence "wasted potential"

If you take a universal view, then yeah, dying young is the universe wasting potential.

But I think The Universe is playing its 'long game' so it doesn't care.

                    Seriously speaking . . .

I wonder if there was a connection between the onset of pugilistic dementia (early brain damage) and having a difficult time with surrviving surgery back then.

Go back and read my Orginal Post. I am not including people who got into a freak accident/situation ( illness would be a freak situation). We would be here all day if we included acts of God, prison or being murder.

                      Thanks for stopping by.
