It wasn't bad.
But you are correct, without (Black) Jazz there would have been no 'Tin Pan Ally,' -- Berlin, Brothers Geshwin, Kern, Porter, Arlen.
Now, on the other hand 'white rap' needs to be stopped immediately, by law if necessary.
I don't like personally because it ushered in the age of primarily gangsters who pushed *******, Alcohol Abuse, and Female abuse that debuted a spike in crime such as drive by shooting that has leveled out with Black Males being incarcerated way over the Latino, White, and Oriental populations.
Can't stand Heavy Metal either. Both rob your soul.
Heavy Metal depresses me, while Rap spikes my fight reflex.
I grew up listening to the vast styles coming up, ie my parents WW2 Big Bands, Jazz, Blues, and Country.
I currently listen to Classical Radio exclusively in part because it's incredible worldwide history, and the fact that I seldom have to hit the mute button, a much better overall listening experience.

Orale! Brony, Queeny, probably Z too and I guess Pep got there:
Y'all old
You can't hate all rap and all metal. That's the same as how my generation likes to pretend all jazz and classical is boring.
Marcus Miller, Stanley Clark, Victor Wootan, some mains, also I love some Herb Alpert.
That said, I got three words for youse: Iron ****ing Maiden!
For rap, I don't know how you do not appreciate the ingenuity and cleverness of some of these guys. The J5?
Rap is just like really ****ing smart. How they were able to sell themselves as these ****** hard men is kinda crazy. They're writers and engineers dudes.
Metal is very well educated in all things history. Maiden has heaps of song based on classical literature.
Punk's another I'm betting you old guys don't like. Too right, I have no defenseI like punk but for artistry, there's hardly a form. If punk has chops we call it metal or pop. It stops being punk when it's good. The only reason to like punk is because I am one. C'mon, youse already know that. It is a middle finger to establishment. Either that speaks to you or it doesn't so, fair enough. I just bring it up to say, yeah, sometimes I get old man hate for a genre, but Rap and Metal though? Nah dog, learn it, you'll find you like something.

Also, who TF else gonna write about dem boys?
[Verse 1]
They found James Ambrose dead in his cell
A gaping gash in his arm had drained him down to Hell
No one knew for sure if Ambrose was his name
They called him Yankee Sullivan in early days of fame
[Chorus]
He'd known the game of fisticuffs had always treated him right
But no one knew the men who came and took his life that night
[Verse 2]
He'd spent some time in Botany Bay atoning for his sins
He fought a bout with Hammer Lane and took a tainted win
He was the hero of the Bowery, a prince of lawless times
Then was battered by the "Butcherman" in 1849
[Chorus]
He knew the game of fisticuffs, he knew the game of might
But no one knew the men who came and took his life one night
[Post-Chorus]
He knew the game of fisticuffs
He knew the game of fisticuffs
[Instrumental Bridge]
[Verse 3]
Lilly and McCoy were shy of a hundred and forty pounds
In 1842 they went a hundred and eighteen rounds
They begged McCoy to cash it in, he said that he would not
Got up and fought one more round, then died right on the spot
[Chorus]
He knew the game of fisticuffs, he knew the game of fight
But no one knew the game would come and take his life that night
[Post-Chorus]
He knew the game of fisticuffs
He knew the game of fisticuffs
That's Primus. Primus is metal AF. Also, kinda sometimes a bit rap, totes often polka, def a bit punk, but mostly just progressive metal. Badass.
Not trying to make you guys like what I like just saying it might be worth looking for what you like in those genres. It's cool if you tried, didn't like and don't want to try again. I'm just trying to spark interest, not debate.

I'd suggest the rise of heavy metal and then rap was the natural evolution of Rock as musicians wanted to do something different that has backfired on them culturally.
Same deal with Art where the Ol' Masters still rule. I still see some promise in modern Art, but with the rise of Artificial Intelligence Art, Art gonna have to 'splain itself or get run over.billeau2 likes this.

Black is beautiful,so is White,Yellow, and Red.
As a Jazz fan I'd hate to contemplate what Jazz would be without the contribution of black artists.
King Oliver
Fletcher Henderson
Louis Armstrong
Dizzy Gillespie
John Coltrane
Art Tatum
Fats Waller
Duke Ellington
Count Basie
Errol Garner
Ella Fitzgerald
Sarah Vaughn
Carmen McCrae
Dinah Washington
Della Reese
Lena Horne
And few hundred more .
A Jazz that is purely White would be akin to a violin without a bow,and Leontyne Price might just be the greatest Soprano Opera has yet seen.
