The betting on the Tyson fight was halted because they (sport bets casinos) could not risk taking anymore money on Douglas.

The 42-1 odds everyone always talked about does not simply reverse when betting on boxing. That's not the way boxing bets work. You could never win $42 for a $1 bet on Douglas. That never existed.

Douglas' action started at 1-20 and began to climb. In time it worked out at 1-35 and the sports betting shut down.

The casino couldn't pay $35 for every $1 bet on Douglas, that simply doesn't work so they shut the window.

The judges were a ****ing disgrace for the fight.

      Look at the scorecards!

      Obviously bribed by King.

Thank God Buster knocked Tyson out or he would have been the victim of an obscene daylight robbery.

Where do you get this? Not saying it's not true, but what I've read is Tyson was so heavily favored they stopped. If it was in Douglas favor I have no doubt word got back Tyson wasn't training except on booze, coke and hookers. It certainly want any experimental drugs.

I don't think I was clear. The odds kept getting longer on Douglas, not that he was favored.

He started out with a $1 bet gaining you $20 and climbed to $35.

That is Tyson was $42 to gain $1 while Douglas rise to $1 gaining you $35.

That makes more sense to what I remember and have read. The Mirage went up to 42-1 odds. No one thought Douglas had a chance to even wager on. Fact is, most odds start falling before the start of ANY fight. Late money does that. It's not rocket science. But saying the odds changed before a fight for a particular reason? Show me. That's all I'm saying. No conspiracy theories, no opinions, just the facts of the matter. And that is no disrespect to you, Queenie or anyone else, but let sleave conjecture aside when it comes to thos, because we all know there is no proof of any wrong doing. Tyson flopped because he didn't train properly and thought he would walk away with an easy win against a guy who was known to not want to be a fightet.....until that night.

It is interesting for people to see that all financial ventures have to have damage control... Yes even the bookies, at a certain point it does not make sense to take a bet. Logically it makes absolute sense. Despite the rare chance, at some points that rare chance can become a major liability.

People also do not realize how much trial and error went into these institutions. Vegas! Hooow boy! They would extend invitations to places in the world where real gamblers go, like the middle east. Laughing at the rubes coming in, that is until... Middle Eastern Rube royalty would lose and lose on a number and each time put more money on that number, and when they hit... they wiped out the casinos. Vegas learned its lesson that day and to this day Vegas will never be the ******** mecca that places off the coast of Portugal and in other parts of ASia are.
