Does anyone still think the old time heavyweights were too small to be competitive in the modern era?

Not me though. I watch him and figure he loses to any great fighter 90s or earlier. With his lavender track suit. His competition makes him look decent but he fights like an amateur. He’s a glorified amateur.

there is no way Usyk is beating the Marcianos and Listons of this world with that style and not having fought any real fighters (they aren’t around).

some of you won’t understand and thats fine but for me personally its easy to see.

    • The problem I have with the boxers that go up against Usyk is that after a few rounds they sense were things are going and just give up and hope for a lucky punch. So in that sense Usyk has not been tested in a way that Marciano and others could have.

        - - Gotta understand US fight fans still squealing after they was emasculated by the KS who have dominated the Hvy division for over 25 yrs through Usyk who is promoted by them.

Usyk,up until this week was promoted by Alex Krassyuk and has never been promoted by K2 the Klit Bros.
          Neither Klit was ever undisputed.

              • - - Usyk @6-3, 220+ is considered a small hvy, but back in the day, much of the AOL crowd thought Ali was too big and strong for the marginally smaller Louis never mind that Louis fought a knocked out a bunch of monsters then, but now the stock 6-5+, 250+ lbs.

wouldn't matter though. Usyk is a stuffed light heavyweight. his head and hands are small. the 220+ you speak of is just as much swelling and inflammation as it is real structural size. just look at him stand beside the K bros. He's not just shorter, he's smaller in every aspect.

Furthermore, it's not even his size thats the problem - he just fights like an amateur. he doesn't leverage his shots, he's very stiff. His defense consists of a high guard glued to his head. It only works because his opponents are not up to par. In fact one of the only things making him stand out in todays era is he's one of the only guys who isn't fat. He's not lean either though.
