Mexico is a great boxing country, second only to the United States. It's about a one fourth the size of the US and has had about one fourth the champions of the US. The difference is no one goes to Mexico to be great in boxing. People come to the Inited States from all over the world to make the big time.Comment

Lou Duva has to get a nod. Out of Paterson NJ.
I don't like the guy but he has many names attached:
Holyfield
Bramble
Camacho
Bumpus
Whitaker
Taylor
Golota
Moorer
Gatti
Some he trained to a championsjip, others he help steer through their second phase.
Like I said I didn't care much for him or his son but they did produce a few champions and a few great fighters.

No love for Raza I guess? The Garcia family from Oxnard to Riverside to Nacho Beristain out of DF have resumes on par with the ATG, arguably both top 5.
I love Kronk and wildcard but let’s stop acting as if the greatest school of boxing isn’t Mexico.
As if it should mater but I’m not Mexican.Comment

Thats right! I tend to think of both islands together, but theya re separate and Puerto Rico might be the single most productive tradition considering relative total population. When i was a kid growing up every Domincan and Puerto Rican kid had an "uncle" or "grandfather" that they did boxing with.Comment
