Derek Chisora keeps getting big fights for some reason. It's insane that with all of his losses he remains a top contender all these years.
Malignaggi made more than what his boxing skills were worth. He wasn't a bad fighter but he earned well above his skills and ability. I know Gatti will enter the conversation for the same reasons but he gave it his absolute all in the ring and got fans up out of their seats. P4P one of the most entertaining fighters.
Buster Douglas earned well above his means as a fighter.
I'll toss Conor McGregor in there. Although he built a name for himself as a UFC fighter, he was 0-0 as a boxer when he fought Floyd and earned over $100 million for that contest.

This is pretty obscure, but...
Italian Gianfranco Rosi was a nightmare to watch, but he did quite good with money after defending his title many times - typically in his own country - against mediocre opponents. Whenever he fought someone with a pulse (Lloyd Honeyghan, Vincent Pettway) he was knocked out bad.Comment

Maybe I'm being harsh. But I think the likes of both Ward and Gatti get a pass from this list.
For whereas their skills may not have been as their paychecks suggest. I think their entertainment value made them worth the price of the ticket.
It seems to me a litmus test for this category would be to ask the question, "Did you get your money's worth"?
With both Ward and Gatti that answer would be yes.Comment
