Best meal I ever ate was out Carrizo Springs by the Mexican border where a friend and his wife lived in an Airstream on Pop's ranch while they built themselves a house.

Fired up a big mess of Mesquite into coals to grill a Venison Tenderloin pulled from a deer hunting expedition bolstered with some spuds. I kept everything marinated with some Mescal I'd bought in Laredo.

We polished off the whole lot in perfect unison with no scraps left save a freshly drained bottle of Mescal...
Why would you think you annoy me? Mentioning snails isn't going to irritate me,your obsession with them might puzzle me, but not annoy me .You should try them.
What sort of deer was it ,Whitetail?Pronghorn?
I eat a lot of Venison in the winter months.Red Deer,Fallow,Sika, Roe, Chinese Water Deer ,and Muntjac.
My Wife cooks the joints in water in a slow cooker ,and we have it with Horse Radish Sauce, and vegetables. It's my favourite meat.
Never tried Mescal, but have had what they tell me is similar in Vietnam,Cambodia and Thailand.
    Is an Airstream a trailer/caravan?

Na, I got to go with Queenie on this one. There is a top line your don't cross, humans-apes-dogs-cats, we don't eat. There is also a bottom line you don't cross, scavengers, worms, bugs, and micro 'growths.'

Snails are beneath that line. It's gross, you need to switch to a higher order of animal, you are grossing us out, but remember not too high, that's off limits too.

So get in line and eat normal.

Rule of thumb: Avoid eating anything where you have too look twice to find the head.

        • I always smell a greenhorn by the word venison. I grew up on the stuff. Surf and turf via lobster and deer meat is to me the best meal available on earth. Black tail, white tail or mule deer taste close to the same.

I am not a green horn I grew up eating dried, salted, garlic pasted venison. Wild bird sounds great and I have had rabbit.

Langford dropped Clark in the 1 st rd and Clark ran like a thief .

Clark beat Norfolk in May 1914 Johnson had lost his title in April! Oops! lol
Dillon deserved a title shot against Johnson?
Johnson won the title in1908 the year Dillon turned pro.
Name ONE HEAVYWEIGHT Dillon beat during Johnson's title reign Dec 1908 -April1915, that would have justified Johnson defending against him?
You are not properly wired up!!!!

Tell you what; Dr Duck. Make a thread stating Johnson ducked Clark and Dillon and we can see what support you get for it?
              Just one? From 1908-1915.

How about Jim Flynn who Jack Johnson gave a title shot to.

Dillon was an easy winner according to Kansas City Star. Flynn was down three times in the 2nd round

Or How about Gunboat Smith who TKO'd Johnson in a 4 round ex.

And Battling Levinsky , he only made the hall of fame.

That is three me from 1908-1915. Four if we count Jeff Clark.

They all deserved a shot over some of the weak fighter Johnson gave title shots to.

              Duck, duck, duck... Johnson.

You do amuse me, old man in a sad type of way. Keep posting please. And my threads are not deigned for you or support .

You are still telling a lie that even Gunboat Smith doesn't corroborate Never TKOed Johnson at all. He himself makes it clear that didn't happen.

                • Here the report is again. Read it, it clearly states that Johnson was down flat on his back and when he recovered to his feet he was so dazed that his manger had to cut the round short! What do you call that? I call it a TKO in exhibition match. I don't write them, I just give the board an opportunity to read them. Smith never got a title shot, despite beating several Jack Johnson opponents and would have been highly ranked ( If they had ring magazine rankings back then ) , just like Langford, Mcvey, Jeanette, and Wills who Johnson ducked while champion. " And he never forgot it " - Smith on the blow who had Johnson down and dazed in the book In this Corner.

If that's true, then how did he continue sparring?

Smith himself said Johnson was down a few seconds. You can't be TKO'd in sparring. You're trying too hard. Your other post about this that gave quotations directly from Smith undercut your argument here.

Smith never got a title shot because he didn't earn one. You're just still upset because Johnson beat the tar out of your idol.

Dude, review Smith's career and tell me if did not earn a title shot. He most certainly did and beat men that Johnson gave title shot too. He also beat a guy named Langford in his prime who at the time was the #1 contender. Some historians refer him the best of the " white hopes " Others prefer McCarthy. Johnson did not fight either, and preferred to pick on lesser " white hopes "

The report says Johnson was down and dazed, his manager had to halt the fight! That is a TKO in my book. There is film on Smith sparring by the way.
