then there is his style and skills he picked up from Futch. He could make guys miss and catch them flush.
I would say Frazier is built like light heavy weight above the waist. The cross and his hook were not snappy punches. Frankly they ******. The hook though was great and a punch that he could re-load the fire all night. And it was a fast punch.

      - - Nothing slim about Joe. He was the most concussive fireplug since Sam Langford and did it blind in one eye.

Frazier was never blind in one eye whilst he was fighting. He developed a cataract in his left eye as a result of scar tissue, this left him with reduced vision in that eye,it's like a part of the lens is covered with gauze.
Coincidentally I had an operation to remove one last Tuesday,

            Nope.

You are wise my friend. Joe cleans out the HW division before the Ali fight. Joe was only 202-205 pounds at his prime. Which was the same weight as Quarry and Ellis.

Interesting term: "Cleaned out the division."

                True that regarding Frazier.

I am now wondering which HW Champions cleaned out the division before getting their shot, i.e. earned their shot opposed to those that, for many different reasons, got to leap frog to the title shot, e.g. Braddock.

Did Ali 'clean out the division' or did his big mouth get him an early shot at the title?

P.S. To Ali's credit, as champion he did clean out the division. No ducks as Cassius Clay, once champion.

No one bothers to delineate these VAST differences in body type between Frazier and Tyson. They are hardly Ernie Terrell and Tony Galento. Let our wonderful physiologists step forward and explain this vast difference, instead of just acting ****** by itself. Did Frazier sit down to piss, or something? Are you idiots sure you are not confusing body type with style? Otherwise, get busy, you owe a better explanation to we poor bastards who are only semi-familiar with boxing and think their body types are quite similar. Go ahead. I really can't wait. That's all you have to do.

Except he wasnt blind in one eye during his career and wore a contact lens in his left for a couple of his last fights. You don't wear a contact lens if you have vision in an eye.

                      - - You don't wear a contact lense in any fight. If he did that it was pathetic advice as that invites a serious eye injury when punched.

I have 20/300 vision to wear glasses since I was twelve, close to legally blind. Didn't stop me from seeing up close when I played football or trained at my punching bags. They were only for driving and school so I could see the blackboard. Come reading or test time, they was ditched and I don't bother to wear them today, period.
