  • Rare films, right here.

This is a mother-load of boxing films from you tube, some most of which I have never seen. Things such as Bombardier Wells, Larry Gians and even Bob Hope sparring Jack Dempsey! Much more. You can see Jack Johnson in London. Harry Wills training More.... I will be busy for weeks. Some boxing collectors who used to sell films and pirate information are pissed. I am for sharing boxing's treasures. Now if only ESPN will do the same for their massive boxing collection Come on ESPN, British Prate is name $$$ on showing theirs.

Thank you British Parate for uploading a small sample of 85,000 films.

British Pathé also represents the Reuters historical collection, which includes more than 136,000 items from the news agencies Gaumont Graphic (1910-1932), Empire News Bulletin (1926-1930), British Paramount (1931-1957), and Gaumont British (1934-1959), as well as Visnews content from 1957 to the end of 1984. All footage can be viewed on the British Pathé website. www.britishpathe.com

      - - Edited footage of Oldfield/JJ racing for rubes.. In fact Barney stomped him so bad JJ might as well been in the next county.

That is true, Oldfield won comfortably.

          Great thanks for the posts.

I even commented on the JJ auto race to make sure the audience knows that's not how JJ spoke.

Also to give JJ credit for a great promotional gig. Probably the most money Oldfield made for an appearance.

Well staged and we'll executed. Entertaining and even brought in (new high tech) film money (1911).

Great camera work for 1911. Probably 'laughable dangerous' today.

            JJ the nightclub years.

            WARNING racist comment to follow.

Why do I get the feeling that nightclub jam was produced and directed by white men?

Ouch! Not bad music, and JJ did give them a little shadow boxing at the end, but . . . I didn't need to see that; did he make a buck with his 'big band' foray?

                  Not rare but----

Tommy Burns vs Jack O'brien HD - YouTube

As an aside does anyone think referee Jeffries looks 300lbs here?

Bob Fitzsimmons vs Bill Lang HD60 - YouTube
                  Pretty good copy,

James J. Braddock vs Tommy Loughran (18.7.1929) Colorized - YouTube

What struck me here was the width of Lightheavyweight Loughran's shoulders and how average Braddock looks.

Braddock was a heavyweight in name only. A journeyman by record is more accurate. He was 174 pounds vs Loughran.
