        • Floyd travelled with disguises to many of his fights apparently, and was more to do with his crushing shyness than any sense that he was destined to lose. Floyd thought he would beat Liston the first time, then the second time. After the victory over Machen, he tried to make a third fight with Liston.

              Never heard any of that before. But personally like Patterson so I liked hearing it.

              Patterson didn't need to go through Liston. He got his shot at Ali as soon as Ali rematched Liston in '65.
