Seriously, If we look at your POV one could say: "Just because a fighter is good/great at more things, does not necessarily mean, a fighter who is at least as good at one thing, and not even necessarily better, does not have a chance." And not only is this not a "tore up worthy" thing to say, it actually rings true regarding Sugar Ray Robinson.
Robinson could pressure and finish... as good as any fighter that ever lived. Yet he lost to guys that managed to win through pressure of a sort: Lamotta as a bona fide pressure fighter, Maxim, due to environmental pressure (Robinson could not survive the heat) and Fullmer who was the "Margarito" of his day: a Bruiser who just kept coming... a type of unscientific pressure.
Guys like Pryor and McClellan had a way they kept in the fight... This was as close to krypton for superman as it was problems for Robinson.
