    !!??? Just kidding

Seriously, If we look at your POV one could say: "Just because a fighter is good/great at more things, does not necessarily mean, a fighter who is at least as good at one thing, and not even necessarily better, does not have a chance." And not only is this not a "tore up worthy" thing to say, it actually rings true regarding Sugar Ray Robinson.

Robinson could pressure and finish... as good as any fighter that ever lived. Yet he lost to guys that managed to win through pressure of a sort: Lamotta as a bona fide pressure fighter, Maxim, due to environmental pressure (Robinson could not survive the heat) and Fullmer who was the "Margarito" of his day: a Bruiser who just kept coming... a type of unscientific pressure.

Guys like Pryor and McClellan had a way they kept in the fight... This was as close to krypton for superman as it was problems for Robinson.

McClellan was a destoyer, but Robinson fought eveybody. Looking at McClellans resume I see that he lost to Ralph Ward. Ward boxed for a short time out of our club. He some how beat McClellan. This guy was akward as funk, his uppercut consisted of him putting his glove against a guys chin and then jumping up. Weird sheet it was. It amazes me that he beat McClellan. If Ward could beat him than I have to believe that Robinson could too.................Rockin'

Robinson fought everyone but the best blacks of his time. He didn't have anything as dangerous as McClellan in the ring with him either. For danger, McClellan was a middleweight Wilder--much more dangerous than anyone Robinson fought. His chin was good too. I think Robinson will win but there will probably be some shaky moments for both fighters, and a KO either way is not unreasonable to me. Robinson had a propensity to slug, which is probably not the preferred strategy for this engagement.

I figure Robinson should be called out more often for avoiding the best blacks of his era, and called out good. I know the explanation, but it doesn't settle. If Dempsey is blamed for his avoidance, then so should Robinson be, thirty years afterward, I figure.

That is the funniest description of an uppercut I ever seed.

I see... So saying that a brain injured fighter could never beat a fighter only dealing with heat prostration is a classy thing to say on a boxing website?

So you can't show me where I ever said that I was a brainiac, why not just admit it?

And the only thing that you'd be hitting is air as you flail away just like a lil' girl.

But what kind of sick funk would ever, even hypothetically, match up a fighter with brain injuries, from his last fight, against a fighter who suffered from heat prostration in his most recent fight?

                      Who does that?
