    Interesting debate, thanks.
I agree. Believe me I am the last guy to think I know everything.

There is actually an interesting and constructive back and fourth with Dan where I acknowledge some of your points. My understanding was that Armstrong's major efforts were "blood doping" strategies.

      - - Your welcome to inform me as your source on Lance's drug use.

The FBI investigation was a sham. Lance took a fall for the team who had been threatened with jail where for some mysterious reason after the FBI had files on the original 911 hijackers that they never acted on.

Lance won his gold medals after the Tour disgrace of drug use almost toppled them, now with copious drug testing of Lance as the Cleanest TDF in history...just sayin'...

Don't know why I am about to engage in this but . . .

Bike racing in Europe is much like boxing used to be in America, a dream of the lower class, a very brutal road out of poverty.

When the American teams of LeMond and Armstrong appeared in the game their dominance was inevitable. Training, nutrition, equipment, FINANCING, were all top notch placing the Europeans at a constant disadvantage.

Second the sport was always full of "fixes" just like boxing once was . . . Most Europeans couldn't quite understand the American over-reaction to Armstrong.

          - - Major Taylor was prob the best cyclist at the turn of the 20th Century with a back story to beat all when he won his first bike race by accident as a 13 year old kid working for a bike shop where the owner used him to promote one of his bikes.

There was a long lapse after Major to Lemond who at least had a French name. Back in the day I had and still have a 1962 TDF equipped Schwinn that I used to post prologue level Tour speed averages under much more grueling circumstances. The bike was 10 yrs old when I got it and considered outdated, but I made a sport out of blasting by the TDF wannabees in their tighties with the newest toy. They never could figure out it ain't as much about the bike as the rider.

Could never be a team guy on a bike club. A team baseball or football player, yeah,

One on, show us a couple of links on Armstrong being harbored by the FBI. Show us a link proving he took the fall for the entire team. Show us something for crying out loud!! I can show you plenty of evidence where he freely admits cheating nearly his entire career. He is the biggest PED cheat in the history of sports.

Why do I need to prove my existence on a board who's glory day was the better part of two decades ago. Time flies when you're living in the bottle and dreaming of the past, huh?

                      - - U link obsessed, not me.

I was in tight with Lance trainer in his first two TDF victories, and all IVs were in the accessible space for TDF officials as the most tested athlete in world history.

TDF from inception was considered impossible, this the pre team era and rife with cheating. They really don’t know who won the first tour because the noob newspaper was formed on the myth of what would be proven a gross lie, that of ***ish Military Hero Alfred Dreyfus being an agent for Germany.

I could go on, but casting more pearls before swine prevails here.
