Does that mean he wanted a rematch with Byrd? I don't know. What do you think though? The fact is he never sought one. Both were ranked closely for several years yet no offer presented itself. You can deduct from that what you will, but the point stands. Vits never looked to avenge that loss rather leaving it to Wlad. Boxing isn't a tag team.
Yeah, always thought that was kinda weird too. So other than the losses, what's your overall opinion on Vitali's career?

      - - U sharpening that point on your noggin...priceless.

While Vit recovering from shoulder surgery, Wlad avenged Byrd for him. Nothing lost save for the ongoing dullness of that point on your noggin requiring perpetual sharpening.

I think he let his brother do all the heavy lifting. Vits was a good, tough fighter. But his career in my opinion was mediocre.

He fought 2 weeks after Wlad fought Byrd, so go sell the crap somewhere else. Don't you get tired of having all your lies exposed? And there is no avenging in boxing. You do it yourself or your reputation takes the hit.

Yep, pretty much what I was thinking. Not sure why he didn't seek the Byrd rematch, at least.

Same reason Wlad never looked to rematch Sanders, it was a bad styles matchup for him. The Klitschko's have/had their faults as fighters, but neither were ****** bty any means. Look at the Way Vits career was maneuvered. He missed fighting far better fighters (28 ring ranked fighters not fought) to fight guys like Charr, Sosnowski, Briggs, Danny Williams and such. He didn't fight any of the best eastern european fighters at that time and stuck strictly by the WBC ratings, which like every other alphabet org are shady and unscrupulous.

Ah, I see. But wasn't he beating Byrd pretty handily at the time of the stoppage on the scorecards?

Head to head Vitali is problematical for anyone, but he avoided so many ranked contenders. He and his brothers careers were cleverly, but cynically orchestrated.

Vits was winning the fight, but the rounds were closer than the scores indicated. Byrd back up the much larger Vitaly many times during the fight and made him miss regularly. Given all all Klitschko’s advantages he only landed 8 more punches the entire fight. It was no walkover, and at the end of the day he still lost.
