What's The Matter With This Forum?

I'm no regular nor expert, and like many here can be busy. But mostly its because I am a grown man.

I don't have twitter or other social media, I think that type of stuff is childish. I come on here to talk boxing history, as so few places offer that opportunity. But when posts devolve into random internet poster throwing around nonsensical falsehoods, or as Dempsey alluded to "agendas jockeying for the last word", then it just reminds me of why I don't have social media- and it happens a lot.

I figure just let them have their peace and feel like they made a point, but in the end do we really want to engage with grown men who lives and feels such a way? Its beneath us.

To most of the newer forum members, historical fights involve early Mayweather and Pacquiao appearances.

I used to be part of a group that talked boxing on Facebook about older fights and stuff, but as the years went by a lot of the members died due to age or disease.

You keep posting thread topics to bait Dr. Z and others in yet another long draw out argument for ten plus pages. People are tired of the petty bickering and attrition posters with agendas and jockeying for the last word.

This section has less than 10 active members, that's the issue.

10 years ago we had about 50 or so.

I'm not interesting in picking sides....But poster is correct half these threads are personal attacks with nothing to do with Boxing. It sucks the fun right out of stuff, if i wanted to her bickering I'd get a wife.

i think it may be true that the history section rehashes debates but that is due to new members joining and not being aware of previous posts and threads.
But if you look at the non stop boxing section then you'll see debate is alive and well with hundreds of witty posters and debates going on as fresh as the boxing press with new debates daily.
i am sorry if i trivialised the section a bit by winding up queenie but i was in a bit of a wind up mood and he was asking for it. I like him though as he is like a wind up merchant with great command of language and history but he loves to wind us up. i don't take it too seriously. Forum owners can employ troll like people to push up debates and stir users to post. Maybe queenie is the site owner and he wants to get people posting. It has been known on other forums!!
