How many heavyweights moved like Conn or Ali? And did you ever stop to think it was Louis' punches slowing his opponents down? You have a very unrealistic view of how you think things were.compared to other era's.

Louis did not beat anyone remotely as good as Ali and was exposed in some of his best opponents fought, mostly by sub 200 pound men. I count two sub 200 pound men that knocked him out and least three others at that gave him though fights which would like be losses in the ten point must system in 12 round fights. This is if you watch the fights and examine the score cards. None of these men were today what is viewed as heavyweights. Yet some fantasies about him big the #1 or #2 heavyweight of all time. Flat out quit against a guy he had a 6" height advantage, 35lbs in weight, and who came in the fight on two weeks notice halfway across the world. Than if that's not bad enough, he never sought to rematch him. Louis, in his close fights gave rematches. Louis never quit against anyone.

Unlike Jeffries who no one normal alive thinks is #1 or #2 of all time. But some do for Louis. Jeffries did not lose to 3 times to sub 200 pound men nor did he get lucky the score cards vs others as if seems Louis did.

Now if you read the fight report you would learn that Willard was coming on and if the final bell was the 20th round he would have upped the ante sooner vs Johnson.

If you read and scored the fight by a quality round by round report it is even at the time of the KO. I have shown you a quantity of news read .
