Wilder has the power to knock any guy out in any era.

While at the same time is able to be bullied and out boxed.
We have seen him do his thing vs some really questionable guys.
I can't think of anyone he beat that Spoon couldn't.
In fact, Spoon beats Fury without a need for a rematch.

Agree 100%. Witherspoon with his overhand right has a real shot. The era just after that one was tough. Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield, Mercer, Tyson. I'm not sure Wilder beats any of them. Merry Christmas. Peace.

All of this excellent troll bait, history denial and general silliness is very much in concert with this festive season, and I for one appreciate it all. Then there are others who appreciate the fact that Fury, Wilder, Usyk, Joshua and the rest, are the best the world has in supply of big men who can fight - and the courage to bet on their own abilities against the rest of the world's best for multi-million dollar level prizes. And the other fact that, like all people; they've got their little flaws, even if they Are the best.

But on a more grounded (and somber?) Note, who should the nearly ruined Anthony Joshua fight in his next few fights?
My picks are:
1. David Allen, for Domestic interest and an easy win.
2. Ali Eren Demirezen, a fringe contender with a style Joshua can look good against.
3. Joyce/Whyte/Dubois/Chisora (Pick 1 or 2). Reestablish his being no. 2 in Great Britain before making a final run at the top (Fury/Wilder/Usyk/Ruiz Jr).

I don't think wins over Ruiz or Wilder says the top right now.

I hoping this for the next 12 months:

Fury-Usyk

Widler-Ruiz --> winner gets --> AJ

Then it's:

Winner of Fury/Uysk --> gets wiiner of --> Wilder/Ruiz/AJ

But I can see mandatory rematches getting in the way, not to mention promoter/scantioning body interference.

But that would be a great year for boxing.

I think Wilder-Ruiz is in the works or close to being signed. So I was working off that logic.

AJ looked better, twice, losing to Uysk, than Wilder did being stopped by Fury, twice.

AJ has too many fights behind him to need warm up bouts. He's near the top and has only a finite number of fights left in him.

If Wilder-Ruiz does happen there will be time for AJ to pick up an easy fight while waiting, if that's what his 'head' needs. I think he is too experienced to need a confidence builder.

But to repeat, AJ's loses were much better outings than Wilder's. The road back to Fury, for Wilder has to go through AJ.

Even with a win over Ruiz, I don't see the fans buying into Fury-Wilder IV next. Wilder needs to go through AJ.

Now if Uysk takes out Fury, then the dynamics change and the winner of Wilder-Ruiz will get the next shot (baring a Fury rematch clause getting in the way.) Then AJ will have to wait and will probably need to stay busy elsewhere.
