Then he had nothing to hold him up.
I think he messed himself up trying to maintain his balance.
Probably better off letting the ("anchor") punch put him down like it did Liston and later Williams. *
* Williams (2nd round) took the same right hand as Liston did, with Ali moving backwards, but reacted to it as you would expect a fighter to take such a punch, a quick/flash KD.
What there is, a nice snappy punch at the end that caught Liston off balance after missing a sweeping left hook stumbling forward, enough to stun him as well as knock him off balance to the canvas. NOT a legit KO blow though, but rather the perfect ring conditions coming together in the moment that was never repeated in time.

Vitali Klitschko entered as The Ring Magazine No. 1 heavyweight contender and Solis was the No. 10 contender. Vitali's brother Wladimir was the magazine's heavyweight champion
https://boxrec.com/wiki/index.php/Vi...Odlanier_Solis
Vitali beat:- 15 opponents (12 by KO) beaten for the World Heavyweight Title.
- Record in world title fights: 15-2 (12 KO)
- Record against former, current and future world titlists: 7-2 (6 KO)
Still think I'm wrong now? You may be good friends with him but don't let that influence this particular small case, let the facts rule.
When I have time on working a my own Vitali Kitschko thread is ranking him vs. history of heavyweights. It will be loaded with facts when it's ready. Let me know if you want a preview of it. My thinking is some points made will surprise quite a few people and laid out in such way where the points made are undeniable.Last edited by Dr. Z; 10-23-2022, 02:00 PM.

Cliff Rold, realising he was never going to get an admission that he was right, sensibly bailed out of the thread saying he blamed himself for letting himself be trolled by this poster.
I hope this will not dissuade him from posting here,he seems a valuable, and sensible addition to our ranks.Last edited by Ivich; 10-23-2022, 02:14 PM.

- - Getting back to topic, best fighters Vitali whooped are:
Corrie Sanders, a southpaw KO specialist ducked by Lewie and Roy among dozens of others.
Sam Peter after a 4 yr JJeffries layoff becoming the first to KO the once defeated rampaging Peter who's sole loss was to Wlad.
JCGomez, another tricky southpaw widely ducked in his day said to have embarrassed Vit in sparring.
Undefeated Chris Arreola still in tough fights today.
Undefeated Kevin Johnson still in tough fights today.
A longtime Ring P4Per Tomasz Adamek a two division champ.
A rampaging Derek Chisora only two losses with Vit having his shoulder thrown out again having to do it one handed. Chis still Boxrec top 10 all these years later fighting Blubber next.
Take your pick, but guaranteed in their day at this time, most all would whoop most all heavy champion defenses ever waged over the past 100+ years starting with Ali's first title defenses for soft lad emphasis. Time for you boys to learn how to read a timeline of boxing.
