Regarding his chin, it was not one of the best but he could take good shots, yeah not Titanium, I think he could take Sam's shots, off of a deflection. Sam was a monster puncher but he often was obvious when in attack mode.

I think Archie would be able to deflect and counter Sam. Archie had great control of angles and could use his shoulders and guards really well to deflect shots then counter. His KO's? I believe quite a few of them came off of counters in this fashion. For a visual? James Toney like... Toney who allegedlly idolized Archie and copied his mentor.

But langford could win this imo... Would not suprise me.

Oh shiat... forgot to answer specifically. I think Sam was a fire on fire type guy... He beat some great guys he could eventually punch through and into... I think Moorer has a level of finesse and use of angles for entry that preclassical guys were not so familiar with. So Archies head and shoulder movements would not be familiar to Langford imo.
Langford scored 126 known ko's,I dont think he could have been that obvious.Film of him, apart from the Jeannette fight shows him walking in casually, hands low my interpretation of this is that he knew he had nothing to fear from the man in front of him .He did the same thing against Iron Hague and got stood on his head I think he would be more cautious against better men.Langford baited fighters by presenting them with a target. It's had to evaluate some of Langfords opposition, but we know a good third of Archie's kos were over dross.I'm guessing with Langford it was pure timing and power,.with Moore, punch placement.

Dont you just love those that come in from the sidelines, make a gratuitously snidey comment ,while adding **** all worthwhile to the discussion, then melt back into the background?
        Q. Where would we be without their input?
        A . In a much better place!

You haven't made a thread on this forum for the last 60pages that's a couple of years.
Have you actually ever made one here ?
Or do you just snake in make a negative remark from the safety of the sidelines, then slither away back to your hole? Serious question.LOL

You did the same thing until recently, we never heard from you until you were banned at the other boxing forum "McVey". Again, making snide comments and playing victim.

I repeat I'm not banned anywhere and I was posting under a different name on other sites not the one liar Dr Z provided you with
A guy never makes a topic on the History thread , but comes in to have a go at me so I responded,
I'm nobody's victim,in case you havent noticed I'm well able to take care of myself in debates!
Shouldn't you be in the Lounge libelling your elected President and bumming up Donald telling everyone what a grand guy he is?
I've been coming here off and on for several years ,along with the Left Hook Boxing site .never posted at either as Ivich.
Perhaps you've been too busy hunting out *****philes to notice I was here?
Now we can carry on in this vein as long as you like.Im quite happy to rip the **** out of you in replying to your petty slights, but Im just as happy dropping this absurdity you are currently perpetuating.

regarding his opposition: Most of the Black Fighters segregated had to fight quality opposition, often the same, repeatedly. Yeah the irony about Moore IMO is that he was not a big puncher so much as a highly evolved technical fighter who had a punch.

In the history of snidey little comments designed to get a rise out of the recipient, this will go down as a dismal failure!
