Me - Charles. Just a little smaller and just a little too fast, seasoned. Evender's early heavyweight prime was chosen to get their weights close. Would his gradually increasing weight over the following few years have bettered his chances? You tell me.

I fear evaluating Holyfield in his later years is made difficult because of possible PED use.

Why even use his early HW career why not think them as CW? Both fought multiple fights in the 180 to 190 range. There I would say Charles dominates him.

The Holyfield that bullied Tyson would be too powerful for Charles IMHO.

This late Holyfield, possibly juiced Holyfield, could stay toe to toe with Tyson, Lewis, Bowe. Big men.

        - - Still not a fair comparison.

Vander turned pro at base level lightheavy weights, the Charles prime. When Charles moves up after his boxing fatality, that's legit traditional heavy territory, again the same weights Vander was fighting at cruiser.

Ez beats Vander at cruiser, no doubt. Once Vander goes to 200+, well maybe if Charles was on his vitamins it could be a tussle, so that's the dilemma of this bout, but Charles was always the master boxer and Vander more the muscleup face first fighter.

yeah for sure, Holy really gained weight from roids. It's crazy to look at him at 175, he was much slimmer. Him and charles are very close in size.

for the record though, and in an non biased way, I think his style does well vs Holyfield. It's competitive because Holyfield won't sit back and lose to anyone easily - but style wise Holyfield textbook / brawling style would be ripe for Charles to deal with. and like someone said at 175 his body of work is way bigger so in theory this matchup isn't really fair.

Probably Charles in that time frame, the later Holyfield beats him though ,imo.

Agreed. Off the juice at 200 lbs I favor Charles. On it at 220 lbs Holyfield became too strong. Still he was 1-4 on fair score cards vs much bigger men in Lewis and Bowe. Losses to Moorer 1-1 and hiccups vs. Bert Cooper make you wonder, not to mention the utterly forgettable trilogy with John Ruiz, were was 1-1-1.

Vander may never beat charles. I thought Holmes beat him. Styles make fights, but vander was both brawler and boxer, but master of neither. With charles its a boxing match, and charles is better at that. He won’t be lured into a brawl.

disagree with the 220 lb holy being too strong, hes blown up and looked bad in many fights at this weight - cumulating with a toney knockout. Holyfields nastiest weight at heavy was about 208-210. This is a geared up and young holyfield. Holyfields non juiced weight was probably high 190s

Great fighter vs a kid. Holyfield became a great fighter later. Charles, movement, speed, and ring smarts just too much.
