    what a wanker
look I won money on Leonard when he beat hagler and yeah it’s a great performance but he was not in his prime and neither was hagler.
leonard was brilliant against Duran in New Orleans and schooled him but it had controversy.
leonard vs hearns was 2 fighters in there prime with tactical moves, high drama and come from behind knockout which ranks as the greatest welterweight fight in history and yes it’s Leonard’s finest performance and most experts agree ....now wind your neck back in tosspot....now don’t respond to my posts again if you cannot have a decent discussion
Never even came close to being put to sleep on the streets, last time I lost a street fight I was 12 years old. As a man, always stood over those that opposed me. I was talking the ring, I'm far more deadly on the streets. Streetside, you'll have a forever limp.

Right now UK has the top 2, in the worst era of HW's in boxing history. Enjoy the Burger King crown.

You wont money on Ray but you were like 13 years old. What a lying sac of ****e!

You're a poor excuse of a man, very frail and scattered. Piss off.

but you watched it live didn’t you.....so how could Leonard’s fight with hearns in 1981 be close to Leonard’s comeback fight against hagler in 1987.
i don’t need boxrec to tell me I know leoanrds career like the back of my hand.....he’s my boxing idol gumbo......I can tell you the ref if you want lol.
what a silly billy you are trying to discuss with me when you can’t even separate 1981 to 1987.

You weren't born and these fake ages you keep posting are hard to keep track of. You weren't alive for either, not sure how I'm remotely even close to being wrong to be frank.

Got yer plunger? My toilet is clogged lmao.

Leonard just did an interview where admitted Hearns should have won the rematch

and if it was 12 rounds Leonard would of also put a bit more pressure on hearns at the start of the fight...The scores were also to wide and easily round 7 could have been scored 10-8.
it’s completely different fight where your tactics would change.
The sound bites that Dundee said would have been said at the start of round 10.
no way on Earth was hearns ahead by 117-111 with Leonard winning 4 out of the 1st 10 rounds and round being a huge round for him.
                  .
I don't agree but we both made our points.

I would like to add that in the second fight (which Leonard has graciously stated several times that he thought "Tommy won that fight") I felt that Hearns barely survived the 12th (and final) round. My gut feeling was, had there been three more true championship rounds to go Leonard probably would have stopped Hearns again. He, Hearns, looked (in the 12th) like he was running on fumes.

Wait, I guess I want to go back to the original point, sorry. -- If what you say about Leonard in the first fight, stepping up earlier had it been a 12 rounder, why then did he not do so in the scheduled 12 round second fight? I think Hearns being gassed in the first fight is an important factor.

in the first I would say they were physically way superior to what they showed in 1989......I mean in terms of movement , styles and also in stamina don’t forget it was 110 degrees under those lights in Caesar’s in 1981.
astonishing to think they could battle like that over 14 rounds.
There was one major thing missing from Leonard that he he had 1981 that he didn’t in 1989 was speed and timing and that were the 2 main fundamentals of Leonard when finishing fighters.
He slowed down an awful lot in 1989 which in truth made him a beatable fighter.
another thing I will add is Leonard took hearns best punches and never showed one time he was hurt and disregarded hearns power after he had hearns almost out mid stages...he became the puncher.
2nd fight hearns hurt Leonard Leonard quite a few times which I think made him wary specially when you’ve been out the ring and retired again ...civilised
so I think he was slightly gunshy of hearns power and the fight was actually turned into a slug fest.
The thing is it’s hypothetical and we will never know for sure...all I know is they were both so well matched it always would be a cliff hangar.
This situation would also apply to
1 would Marciano have stopped Walcott if it was a 12 rounder
2 would Louis have stopped billy conn.
we just don’t know as the fight would have a different situation.
But at least we can have respectful debate
